You can easily use square grid units of 3 cm each, the content will still be relative to the grid, and vertically it will make no difference. Round the 29.7cm to 30 cm and that gives you a proportion width and height which is divisible by 3, if you find this helpful.

Just a question, is there any art tutorial book cover comprehensively on drawing human figures in perspective with foreshortening (one, two points, three points, and so on)?

They're similar, in that they'll both give you a degree of accuracy you might not otherwise have achieved. A grid will give you more, though, simply because it's easier to see where things like tonal changes are. Those kinds of things are much harder to trace

@@paulwoodford1984 Depends on what (or why) you're tracing I think. If you trace for placement or proportion, then you've just given yourself a frame to work with. You can still be as creative as you like with it.

@@littlejoe6025Most of the people who use tracing and grids do so because they don't possess the skills required to accurately draw freehand. I'm not criticizing those that do use them, I'm just saying this is generally the case. I mean if someone has put the time into getting good at freehand drawing why would they ever need to go back to using methods for beginners? The process is tedious and the end result is usually lacking in originality. I don't buy the saving time excuse either as any skilled artist can do a block in within minutes.
