We of course all love when Bobby did his solo Unchained Melody but I was reintroduced to them when his partner Bill Medley sang what became my favorite song from the movie Major League..."40 I find...they were absolutely exceptional as a duo or individually...thank you both, RIP Bobby Hatfield

Bill with his bass/baritone, Bobby with his tenor/countertenor....two amazing voices & it worked. Lovin' Feelin' the most played recording of the century...with all of the great recordings, this was it, the song lovers dreamed of, the heartbreak of someone's first love...it was magic...and a masterwork.

I'm a longtime RIGHTEOUS BROTHERS fan - 1962-present. Bobby and Bill - they were the nicest guys and greatest singers - THE BEST DUO IN MUSIC HISTORY IN MY OPINION. I'm 62-years old. I remember many interactions with them throughout their careers ... Bobby would have been 72 years old this coming August 10, 2012. He is sadly missed by us all .... Remember Bobby for 41+ years of great music and his kindness to all of us. Go see Bill - he can still belt the songs out. AWESOME . :)

One of my favorite Bobby Hatfield stories. One night here in San Diego. I was getting autographs and talking to them both. They were at Humphries, an outdoor stage setting. I told Bobby that the women in the crowd always loved it when he would added an extra "Please" when he did his exchange with Bill. So he said "thanks I'll make sure I add it tonight." Watch the "exchange" around 2:45 where Bobby sings, "Please, Please, Please" and adds a smile at the end. Priceless. They were the BEST.

35diamondgirl shares the same feelings I have about The Righteous Brothers - their acceptance speeches were so genuine. Bill and Bobby, ever so grateful, thanking everyone involved - leaving no one out. When Bobby thanked "Paul Shaffer, his band and those background singers ".. and then added "mercy" - I thought what a class act. In January, 1962, in my hometown of San Jose, CA they sang at John's Drive-In for the March of Dimes Marathon and were simply fabulous .. 50 years ago !

It's the miles on Bobby's vocal chords, as well as smoking that robbed of those high notes. Bobby's style of singing songs like "Summertime" which he sang a lot of, had a lot to do with it. But it makes no difference, because Bobby was still the greatest singer in the world. Just ask bill. Yes, I lost my singing voice from smoking. But I didn't quit until 2 years ago. Regrets, regrets. I am so glad that they choose this song at their long overdue 2003 Hall of Fame induction. Catch Bill and Bobby on Shindig sing it live - GREAT. Yes and Barry and Cynthia said Bobby added those high counter-tenor "please" notes. They said that was of his own doing. That wasn't the way they had written it but loved it. Loved working with such talented artists.

I am 62-years old - I have heard this song, thousands of times ... thank you to Barry Mann and Cynthia Weil for writing this great song for Bobby and Bill. Yes, I agree with 35diamondgirl - they just nailed this song. Past all the politics and waiting to get into the Hall of Fame, they were fabulous - and gracious. The acceptance speeches - very touching. Bobby Hatfield the Good Lord made only one of him - and he was so special and such a gentleman to us all - as Bill still is. AWESOME ..

@@francosfarms1573 Loving Feeling and Soul and Inspiration were both written for The Righteous Brothers by Cynthia Weil and Barry Mann. Have since been covered by so many others, but RB still have the best. No one has come along and done them better. Unchained Melody is probably the song you are thinking of. Bobby covered that song ten years after its release

@@phyllisrogers847 Phyllis, I didnt mean to bring up this subject but it has always made me angry because I loved Bill. Bobby adored him. Read the book. Bobby's kids were so upset because they looked on Bill as their uncle. Valyn had looked forward to "Uncle Bill" walking her down the aisle. There are so.mane people upset by the things Bill said about Bobby. I think that Bill really did love Bobby as a brother. But I believe that there was a lot of unnecessary jealousy on Bills part. I'm happy that Bill is still alive and singing. I love his tribute to Bobby. I believe it's sincere. Maybe an apology. But whatever was truth, solo or duo, they were amazing. I'm happy that Linda never saw that book.
