I've done both. And if you're in that area YOU must do both. The Ring of Kerry takes several hours. The ride around the Dingle peninsula is much shorter. BOTH have unique things to see.

I just got back from Ireland and we did both. That said, if for some reason you can only do one, then stick with the Dingle Peninsula. There are long stretches of the Ring of Kerry where the scenery (while beautiful) is more bucolic. If you like those ocean vista views then the Dingle Peninsula offers this in a more compact form.

Inch beach is not on the Ring of Kerry and needs a rather long detour to reach and then back again,this information must be confusing to tourists, Inch beach can be taken in doing the Dingle peninsula. Both tours are equally beautiful , take a day to do each one and you will have ample time to make many stops.

@sav75684 жыл бұрын
@@MemorySeekers You could turn that 3 days into 4 if you spent a day visiting Skellig Michael or you could also spend a day on Valentia. Then there are the back roads through the hills in the middle of the peninsula. Then there is the drive from Kenmare to Glengariff where you can stop by Molly Gallivan's house but don't be fooled into thinking she was a poor widow woman battling a cruel life. She was a rich widow woman selling moonshine.

Are these narrow and windy roads are really made for two cars? I'm going to Ireland next month and I'm little bit concerned.
@MemorySeekers4 жыл бұрын
I think the narrow roads were there before the car but they have little passing gaps every few hundred yards. Unless u have a very big 4x4 then passing is pretty straightforward don’t let it put you off from enjoying the stunning views you can’t see without the car and the flexibility it allows you to stop where you like.

The Ring of Kerry should be driven counterclockwise according to the local tourism department.

I wouldn't think so , if you go clockwise and as we drive on the left, you will then have the best views of the Atlantic coast.

British?
@MemorySeekers3 жыл бұрын
British as in the British Isles, a geographical term encompassing the United Kingdom and Republic of Ireland.... not to be confused with Great Britain, which is a term to describe England, Scotland and Wales.
@materdeimusicd.buckley29742 жыл бұрын
Agreed.
@ItsmeeSaoirse11 ай бұрын
The term British Isles is a highly controversial term in Ireland and is not a recognised term by the Irish Governement as the term comes from when the entire island of Ireland was occupied, colonised and ruled over by England. When the Good Friday Agreement was signed the term was deliberately omitted in the treaty and both islands were referred to as Britain and Ireland or These islands. British Isles is an antiquated, imperial, highly controversial term and is no longer used out of respect for the fact that most of Ireland regained its independence and sovereignty.
