“Cresco to Cumbres Pass”, Rio Grande Southern Mixed Freight Extra. Helper engine #20 and road engine #455 “Double Heading” the Extra from Chama departs Cresco Tank. I also captured the train crossing the highway at Coxo, the Cumbres Pass arrival, some interesting moves on the wye and a meet with the daily Train #215 with K36 #489 that would latter develop brake control problems. The #455, running light back to Chama rescued Train #215.

#455 is really C&TSRR’s K27 #463 in disguise. Recently restored RGS #20 (from Colorado RR Museum, Golden) was trucked to the Cumbres & Toltec Scenic Railroad's 50th Anniversary Celebration for private charters following the week long Victorian Iron Horse Roundup.
