“Cumbres Pass To Los Pinos River”, Rio Grande Southern Mixed Freight Extra. After “Double Heading” the 4% grade with RGS #455 from Chama, RGS locomotive #20 departs Cumbres Pass solo for the trip to Antonito. I chased and captured the train traversing Tanglefoot Curve, whistle for the Apache Junction crossing and both sides of the Los Pinos River Valley.

#455 is really C&TSRR’s K27 #463 in disguise. Recently restored RGS #20 (from Colorado RR Museum, Golden) was trucked to the Cumbres & Toltec Scenic Railroad's 50th Anniversary Celebration for private charters following the week long Victorian Iron Horse Roundup.
