I love 7-11. Growing up, I would spend my allowance there. There was one 5 minutes away from my high school. As a young adult, it was the only option for late night food (chicken tenders, pizza, sandwiches, toquitos, etc) When I travel to tourist places like Thailand and South China, I absolutely adore the convenience and price of 7-11. This is honestly the best convenient store in the world and I've been to Japan too! Lawson eat your heart out.

I can't remember the last time that I bought anything other than gas from any convenience store. There are just so many grocery stores around me with far better prices.

In Philippines, we have locally grown convenience stores who are growing regionally. For instance, in Iligan city somewhere in Mindanao, shoppe24 convenience shop was already existing long before the opening of several 7/11 eleven stores in the city and yet all are still operating. 7 eleven put a healthy competition in the Philippines and still growing..

I remember only 10 years ago the only 7-eleven's anywhere near me were convince only stores a 30 minutes drive away in the city CBD and I thought it was so cool to go to them because I heard so much about them from American TV. Now it feels like they're opening new service stations left, right and centre in Australia. They now have 8 service stations within a 20 minutes drive of my house.

In Asia, if there’s no 7 Eleven nearby means it’s a bad location, then you should avoid buying that property.

These have been rising up in my country of Philippines. The over the counter payment of online processors helped a lot.

A a kid in the 70's the slurpees were awesome ! & they had collectable baseball player cups. It was a kid friendly place.

Fun fact... for most of their history in America, 7-Eleven stores with room for a gas station always had a CITGO station attached. Somehow the friendship between the two companies soured about ten years ago. So the CITGO name was dropped and 7-Eleven started selling gas under their own name in the USA. Hilariously, the old CITGO panels on the 7-Eleven roadside signs (the signs with gas prices on them) were all replaced by "oh thank heaven" signs! And I don't think many people under 60 in this country even know "oh thank heaven" was the 7-Eleven slogan long ago. There was a time in the 60's and 70's when 7-Eleven ran commercials on TV with a song based on this slogan. Interestingly the 7-Eleven stores in Canada never sold CITGO gas, but perhaps CITGO never existed in Canada at all? Lots of Americans old enough to remember when ESSO changed their name to EXXON (almost 50 years ago!) in the USA probably have no idea that the ESSO name is still used in Canada (so that means there are NOT any EXXON stations in Canada) and would be shocked if they went to Canada and saw an Esso station. Also, lots of Americans are probably shocked (I know I sure was) when they go to a 7-Eleven in Canada and find out that MARLBORO cigarettes are NOT sold in Canada at all! Marlboro is the most popular cigarette brand in the world, but is unavailable in Canada because of a legal dispute between Philip Morris and a competing Canadian tobacco company which happened way back in 1955! Most of the other classic American cigarette brands are sold in Canada though... CAMEL is the most popular, which is funny because Marlboro and Camel have a huge rivalry in the USA, but Marlboro has always outsold Camel by a huge number... just like Coke outsells Pepsi.

In Malaysia, 7-eleven is one of the many offerings which includes 99 speedmart, k-mart, family mart, happy mart, myNews and circle K. So its a growing industry that is filling the gaps between small stores vs big shopping malls.

Taiwan 7-11: Where aside from conveniently buying hot food & cold drinks, one can also fax, print, mail, pay bills (phone, water, electricity, even speeding tickets), buy tickets (concert tickets, train & high-speed rail tickets, plays & shows, etc.), call for a taxi, pick up packages that are shipped to you, etc. etc. The ultimate in convenience! :-D

We need better convenience stores or small grocery stores in North America. In the UK they have small convenience store size Tescos that sell at grocery store prices that are in town centres. This would be great for under served communities.

I love 7 11 Japan. ODEN is popular especially during winter. ODEN is a hot pot filled with vegetables, boiled eggs, and white fish paste specialties, served with fish stock soup.

American 711's are like shopping inside a mini walmart that went through the apocalypse. I will always go to Wawa or Racetrack.

We have used 7 11 some, but it's offerings in the US does need a spruce up for sure. That being said we have used curbside, scan and go and delivery from 7 11, Amazon, and other places. I don't see us returning to in store shopping anytime soon, as this is much more manageable with a large family. Places that have curbside or quick scan and go has been great for our needs, even outside the pandemic. It also helps manage crazy impulse buys, but we also discover new things so it evens out.

IMHO here in western TKO suburbia there are 2 convenience stores duking it out, 7/11 and Family Mart. Pretty much the same in store accessibility, layout and merchandise yet I end up at a 7/11 5 to 1. This is due to the prepaid/rechargeable 7/11 card called nanaco, results in no change to carry around how convenient..

It depends on where those store located. The ASIA model usually suitable at high density city. The US or Canada land scale is too big for this model.

I have only been to 3 countries so don't have how it is in other countries like Japan/USA/Australia/Canada. But in Bangkok these shops are freaking everywhere. I used to go to 6 of them which were near my hotel.

I was shock to know that foods and in-store dine-in are just newly incorporated in American 7-11s. Like in our 7-11 here in Asia, we used to stay at 7-11 stores to eat like it was a restaurant.
