American Artifact chronicles the rise of American rock poster art since its birth in the'60s. Award-winning director, Merle Becker crosses the country interviewing the rock poster artists from the different eras to discover that America is currently in the midst of a 21st century "rock poster art movement", where thousands of artists around the country are doing silk screened rock poster art inspired by their local scene, the music of our time, and the spirit of our era.

Kinko's Story: My friends and I were doing a Punk Zine around '85 ish. We had all 12-14 of our pages done so went to Kinko's to make hundreds of copies of each. Back then, they'd give you a counter that you'd put in the copier and we rolled that thing back to zero and it started over. Between that and the shift change, we paid $30 for what should've been a few hundred bucks! As 15-16 yr olds, that was HUGE savings. :)

Enjoyed this documentary and know of a lot of the artists in it. However, very disappointed one of my favorite artists wasn't mentioned. RIP Speed aka Scott Hall!
