After the Beanie Babies "Craze" of the 90s started to fade away Ty Inc was in search of their next big success and not only was the success big but so were their eyes!
Beanie boos were released back in 2009 and as a kid saying I was OBSESSED is an understatement?? I actually made a video on this topic in 2022 but I knew I could do better.. so here we are again!

one of my first ever beanie boos was spells the snowy owl, and it was the catalyst for my childhood owl hyperfixation. like for years i was the owl kid, every book i could read, photo i could collect. guardians of gahoole was my special interest. all because i was captivated by that sparkly eyed creature in a hobby lobby

i didnt realize beanie boos had such a past and such a big collectors base??? im a casual collector of them and have been since 1st grade!! my first ever beanie boo was moonlight and my mom gave her to me during the walk home from school on my birthday! most of mine are stuffed in boxes (we moved about 8 years ago) but this has inspired me to go and try to find them and dig them out sometime!

The beanie babies story reminds me of how, in terms of beanie baby “collector prices,” I have two of some of the rarest ones. I got Princess Diana because my nana had her and little 4 year old me was like “Can I have it 👉👈🥺” and she gave it to me. I also got the new millennium beanie baby because I was a good little child at my pediatricians office. I can’t even remember what I did, it might’ve been getting my shots and being a brave little child, but yeah. Also, I remember my first ever beanie boo being Slush the Husky that I got at my local Cracker Barrel. I was like 8?

I'm deep into the OG collection. I searched and hunted for ones I wanted in deep corners. I wanted the princess Diana one because it was purple and I share a birthday with her 💜 Found one for 2 bucks in perfect condition and it's still put away with my huge collection. I love the 00s collection of beanie babies too. If I had space I would 1000% have them all set up. I used to have a VHS tape about a beanie baby convention in 97 and prices of different babies, I watched it so many times....

@@benamisai-kham5892 That’s so cool!! Actually, a few days after I wrote this comment, I found my millennium beanie baby!!!! Still tagged (and I guess relatively mint condition?? Tag itself is a little damaged but the plush itself is fine) I also bought scorch and magic the dragons because they were ones I really wanted so I could make them kiss. Scorch is actually the first beanie baby I got that has an error tag :3

im 27 and tbh i subscribed because a lot of these toys i was too old to really have so im rly interested in the lore and stuff. I think its really interesting that theres avid beanie boo collectors, i only really have the fox one but other than that i think i never really appreciated beanie boos because i grew up with beanie babies instead. It makes me happy that there are people who really care about beanie boos, as someone who once thought of them as a soulless cash grab

I used to put those keychain beenieboos on bookbag but someone from my elementary school would always steal it from me and it happened so much i stopped asking for them or even putting things on my bookbag at all. The teachers always said i just lost it because they didnt wanna deal with finding out who stole them but I had four of them in a row stolen off my bookbag at school and I know they were stolen because id leave my bookbag in the cubby, come back and my beenie boo was gone. Im still kinda salty about it

I have all my beanie babies in a huge storage container in my closet. I'm pretty sure my very first one, Bamboo the Panda (with green eyes), is in there. He unfortunately somehow lost the stuffing that was holding up his neck so now it looks like someone snapped his neck.

The "Not" beanie boo you described sounds like a Beanie Baby from the 2.0 era, where they thought giving them big eyes on regular Beanie Baby bodies would make them look cuter but it turned out to be big flop since the audience felt so distanced from the franchise. The change was not received well and thus was discontinued. I guess you could say this was the prototype for the Beanie Boos franchise. Athena P made a whole video on Beanie Babies 2.0 and their failure.

I remember when I was younger I would go on summer vacation with my family and every single time I would buy a Beanie Boo for my friend wherever we were and write little notes telling her stuff like their hobbies and their favourite foods and such, it was actually pretty cute when i think back on it

I wouldnt call myself a big beanie boo collector but man did I love these things as a kid. all the ones I have are non sparkle eye normal colored animals like bamboo, safari, peanut, honey, daisy, speckles, waddles, coconut, slush, and my favorite nacho the chihuahua. when they started to get colorful I stopped collecting but I'm glad that I still have all of my childhood ones

i remember in third or fourth grade (the 2014 eos era) beanie boos were like the popular girl thing at my school and the popular girls in my class would always just have them sitting out in front of their desks every day. i wanted one so bad it hurt, and on christmas the long-anticipated beanie boo finally made its way to me. i brought it to school every day, and the popular girls did eventually strike up a conversation with me about it, but only once, and i remained very uncool for the remainder of my schooling. (it was either cancun or leona in case you were wondering, i don't remember which one of those came first)

I have made beanie boo videos, beanie boo customs, I have even been a beanie boo for Halloween. As a current adult Beanie Boo collector who started when I was like 8 (with my collection currently standing behind me, staring through the mirror), I audibly gasped when I saw this on my home page :') First of all, thank you for making a video about these wonderful things! Secondly, you have quite an impressive collection ^^ When I was a kid, my mom only really bought them for me once every few months or for Christmases and birthdays. I stopped collecting when I was a teenager but resumed again in later years of high school. I had more money and freedom to buy them but I was pickier too so I've managed to amass just 60 Beanie Boos in total but I love almost every single one

My assumption is that beanie boos kinda fall just to the whole “what toy companies think is cute” thing that’s been happening for years. Which, I think some of the beanie boos fall into that, but a majority of them are just silly little fellas that are abnormal colors.

me and my brother were avid beanie boo collectors and, if my memory serves me right, i think we had 5 of the original designs. We dropped out OG paddles down the stairs tho and his eye ended up falling out, so my dad made him a little eye patch out of an old sock and we renamed him “one eyed jerry”. Every store we went to i would look for beanie boos and especially during the holiday season i made sure to collect one of the years design. Added bonus being that my birthday is on valentine’s day so i was always swarmed with valentine’s day beanie boos. My brother stopped collecting when they changed to only sparkle eyes and after that i didn’t for much longer either. This video is awesome tho, it’s so cool to see that there are others who adored these little guys the same as i did! (this comment is all over the place, forgive me)

my first beanie boo was peanut (not the original 😔) and i got oscar the owl from a claire’s (maybe justice?) that was closing down in like 2017. he only came with one arm (wing?) and i still love him to this day. he served in the beanie boos war

I absolutely loved watching this video. I got my first two beanie boos when I was 5 and started collecting them when I was about 8. I invested myself into watching videos like this as a kid, and watching this one brought a sort of nostalgia to me. I still collect them now and have, at this time, 321 beanie boos. They were such a big part of my childhood, and it so cool seeing how far they've come. Your video hit so many informational points and is so well done, fantastic job!

the pink poodle right above your head (princess) was my absolute favorite stuffed animal as a kid, and i didnt really like beanie boos very much. i got her on easter in like 2nd grade and she is one of the only 3 stuffed animals i still have in my room to this day. she csnt really stand up anymore but shes slumped over on my bookshelf right now

Oh man the first ever “beanie boo” I got was from the McDonald happy meals LOL. Me and my sister were so obsessed that we kept asking for more. Then we found out they sold small ones (they were the keychains) we went haywire. So we would always come back home with one beanie boo from Michael’s (the craft store). Oh man the lore we made with them including with our monster highs is crazy.. 😭

Will never forget when I was at the thrift store, had just started collecting beanie boos, and seeing kiwi in a bag of plushies for 60 cents, but choosing some beanie babies instead cause i thought he looked ugly...you can imagine how pissed off I was when i found out how much he was worth 😭😭

I started collecting when I was 5(2014) and I now have around 500. I am a huge beanie boo lover to this day(it’s literally what my channel is all about lol) and I just think the history is so interesting. When I first saw a beanie boo in store, I immediately fell in love. I do agree with you however. The older beanie boos are WAY better than the newer ones! The newer ones have lazier designs, their not bad but the old ones were ✨PERFECTION✨ and I really wish I hadn’t missed the solid eye era. I have gotten a bunch of solid eyes online, but I have put way too much money into them😅This video was so nostalgic so thank you for making this video! New sub❤️

I was an avid Beanie Boo collector from 2014-2019. Stripes the tiger was my very first one. 2015 and 2016 was my prime time for collecting, I used to take them to school and play with my friends. I miss that :((( I can’t believe that was 8-9 years ago now. My last Beanie Boo was Hope the Bear in 2020, the one to raise funds do a COVID relief and it’s so cute! 🩵

my first beanie boo was also iceberg the seal! i had so many in so many different sizes. keychains, jumbos, etc. i used to spend hours organizing and lining them up. but now i find them a little ugly lol. i have douglas stuffed animals now, which are more realistic and don’t have giant, hard eyes that make them uncomfortable to cuddle at night

My first beanie boo was either Ollie or glamour, idk when I got Ollie but I got glamour for Easter when I was 5… I didn’t rlly start collecting until I was around 7. When I was 10-13 I had a couple beanies which I would call “the crew” and it consisted of 8 beanie boos which I played with and took them everywhere I’d go (Slush, slick, tala, dougie, sherbert, cherry, Tasha, and lindi). Recently I had to re-stuff them because the stuffing in their necks were starting to be limited, so their heads would kinda bobble 💀. Looking back on the years I religiously played with the beanies, I noticed how ruthless I was with them😅. Kiki and lovsey’s left eye came out of their eye socket from me throwing them around, dotty’s nose is missing a corner from it and her eyes have no sparkle is them, and lastly Tasha’s nose came out of its place 😭I definitely loved a couple of my beanies to pieces…

AS SOMEONE WHO HAS BEEN OBSESSING OVER THEM ON AND OFF FOR OVER 8 YEARS NOW, I'M SO HAPPY SOMEONE MADE SUCH A GREAT VIDEO ABOUT THEM THAT COVERS SUCH A LOT OF THINGS. EVEN THE MOBILE GAME!! I don't really have a favorite because I like almost all of them but ones I hyperfixate on the most are probably Reagan, Tabitha, Cashmere and Sophie! I have a soft spot for kitty beanies of any kind :3

slush has the same birthday as me, so i collect slush boos (i have the giant one!!) i was like really little at the tail end of the beanie baby craze and one of my earliest memories is getting a beanie in my happy meal, so there's a nostalgia factor there. boos are so cute tho, i have my slushes and a few others :)

I collected beanie boos for so many years (1st grade to about 9th grade and im currently a high school senior) I don't have my whole collection anymore, but at it's peak I had around 120 of them! I just kepts my favorites and I plan on keeping them forever! My first one was an older slush the huskey and he's still my favorite :)

I also used to be a huge collector of beanie babies and beanie boos. My dad used to always bring a beanie boo back home for me when he'd go on business trips so they each give me memories too. I have a lot of favorite beanie boos, but my top ones are Tuffy, Pugsly, Scraps, Cookie (She was my first one), Princess, Nacho, Fetch, Rootbeer (Mine came with a crooked leg that I used to make a split/cast for him to wear to "correct" it) and Slush. I also have a Kiwi one I got about a year ago, I had two, but I gave one two, but I gave one to a friend and I kinda regret it because I'm not as close to that friend anymore and I gave him the one I had that still had it's tag. I also thought this was interesting to mention, but coming up on a year now I found a Webkinz bat at the thrift shop with it's code still attached and I freaked out over it because I love bats!

I have a pretty large collection of these, not as big as urs tho LOL, and when I tell u I was obsessed with these I mean OBSESSED. My first beanie boos were from 2010-2011- one was the uk exclusive monkey sherbet and she’s soooo cute I even made an amino community for beanie boos- it actually gained over 1000 members and had its own drama and it was literally crazy😭😭😭 That was also in 2016 I think which is insane to think about💀💀💀 So I greatly enjoyed this video!!! It’s so much fun to see long vids about stuff u like so much :333 I still check new beanie boos in shops today lolol My fav beanie boo is probably Dougie but also Sherbet of course cuz she’s my ride or die🤞🤞🤞

I collect beanie boos! As of now i have 120. And DANG YOUVE GOT SOME RARE ONES! I have noticed how quality has gone down since the beginning. This video is really cool! Edit: yeah that moose my cousins have one! I’m pretty sure the reason why everyone saw it as super rare is because that was one of the first beanie babies released in 1993.

We i went to cornwall i remember there being a ty shop that sold rare beanie boos and babies and normal ones im not sure if its still open now, but thats how my collection started

I had a few of these as a kid. As an adult I've kept 2. The polar bear that I had named Snowball, and a Pink sloth. The polar bear was given to me by a very kind woman who worked in the building where I took violin lessons. Every month or so she let me pick out a Beanie Boo from her stash, and out of all of them Snowball ended up being my favorite. I got the pink sloth MUCH later. I saw it and I fell in love. My best friend had told me that eventually she was going to buy it for me. Unfortunately, she was hospitalized soon after that. After she passed, I went back to the store and I bought the plushie and named it after her. So in my mind, she did eventually buy it for me :)

OMG YES ICEBERG THE SEAL I LOVED THAT ONEEE. I USED TO ALWYA TAKE IT TO SCHOOL AND THEN I LOST IT FOR YEARS AND LATER FOUND IT AND BECAME SOOOK HAPPY. I LOVE ICEBERG SO MUCH!!!

Dude I used to not be a fan of beanie boos until I got my tiny little hands on the green and purple dragon with rainbow scales. That poor guy never left my side unless I had to go to school or something. I got him when I was like 11 or 12 and I'm 20 now and he still has his special spot on my bed but all his scales are rubbed off and hes very faded. Since I loved Cassardis (my dragon) so much I got literally every other dragon beanie boo I saw when I was shopping, they just look so sad and stumpy and it's so precious

I turn 27 in 8 days! We are both Jan 10! And now I know the little penguin guy has the same bday as me too! I agree with you as far as rare. I've only met one other person with my birthday in my life, I was maybe 6 or 7, and we met in a grocery store. LOL

i'm 26, so webkinz were my childhood stuffed animals, but i still remember my first beanie boo. i was at the zoo with my friends and one of my friends bought me a medium stripes the tiger. i still remember the moment they gave it to me. years later we're dating now! and i still have the plushie!

dude, no way?!?!?! i live like 30-40 mins. away from sac and i go to the toy store you mentioned all the time (i won't name it. im gatekeeping.) its like one of my favorite places ever they have such cool stuff there.... though it was definitely a lot more interesting a decade or so ago mainly because of the little shooting range area which they unfortunately got rid of

10:47 that's north dakota and south dakota I actually had one of the extra large/jumbo beanie boos as a kid, it was tasha the leopard and we'd constantly joke about how huge she was.
