Plays on the “trust tribe members”and fear those outside the tribe which js a product evolution. So common that it has a name: Affinity fraud is a type of investment fraud in which a con artist targets members of an identifiable group based on things such as race, age, religion, etc. The fraudster either is or pretends to be, a member of the group. Often the fraudster promotes a Ponzi or pyramid scheme.

Your aunt presented you with a business opportunity, it was your own lack of work ethic, lack of motivation & drive, lack of wanting to better yourself that led to you being in debt. Because thousands of others have turned this opportunity into a consistent 6 figure income, where they are able to achieve complete financial freedom & even travel the world through paid for trips by the company. @@macysondheimThis is very true... Last time I checked Mary Kay is responsible for the most women millionaires in the US. I grew up in Network Marketing. My father was wildly successful in several companies and developed a 5 figure monthly income. I myself did "pretty" good in several companies but I never made more than 10k a month. As a person that participated in the MLM industry I can tell you first hand that most people who join are lazy and scared of rejection. You literally have to be fearless in talking to mass amounts of people until you find the ones that want to join. Most people hardly talk to anyone and when they get told no and their feelings get hurt they want to quit and claim "the business doesn't work". The business is NOT for everyone.. especially those with no work ethic to sell/recruit other distributors or for people who will quit at the first sign of adversity.

Great vid m'bro. Knew an older gent in NYC some time ago, who'd just done twenty for fraud, and learnt a few things from him. One of the most important being this: "the hardest people to grift are the honest ones, while the easiest are the needy, the greedy, and the believers." and about believers he said this: "it doesn't matter what people believe, it's the act of believing that makes them vulnerable, because belief is an doorway their souls, all he ever had to do was find the key to that door, and he'd own them". He said he found it both depressing and amusing, that it was usually those he ripped off for the most, who were his greatest defenders. Keep it on the swivel✌🏾

My MLM story. I'm a black woman who lives in the Midwest. An older white lady who lives in my apartment building immediately showed fondness towards me, and I actually appreciated it because it has been tough making friends out here. We went out to the park and some shows a couple times, and I learned that she was dealing with chronic pain from extensive joint surgeries. We got to talking about covid and she said she reluctantly got vaccinated once but never again cos she didn't trust it. I was like, okay, that's cool. Next thing I know, she's talking about this supplement that she's selling that basically cured her pain, and made Jesus walk on water. I thought it was weird until she invited me to a marketing meeting, and sent me brochures to expose me to the product. I'm a scientist so I was looking for scientific journals or medical professionals addressing the supplement...not a one. She further explained that she knew people who had become millionaires from the product due to how effective and popular it is. That's, all those people except her of course. I noped out of that and have never heard from her again - not even to just hangout. Sad.

Thanks for putting this online.🎉 The MLMs (aka Network Marketing) programs are borderline legal and just skimming under the ponzi radar by having these “products” as a front. Without the products, they are a recruiting ponzi business. Unfortunately, the affiliate marketing model is also becoming similar. The “product” in affiliate marketing often times is “training” to be successful. They are marketers, selling marketing to other marketers to sell marketing to other marketers. And don’t have a legitimate product. This being said, there are affiliate programs that have legitimate products and services, that pay commissions in the affiliate, marketing world. The big warning ⚠️ sign, is talking about the money, constantly talking about the money constantly talking about the money. Money, money , money. In business, money is obvious, it’s the product, service, or the cause that is important. Thanks again for sharing this wisdom. 👍💕

I watch a lot of anti-mlm videos and content about exposing scammers so I'm happy the algorithm put your video on my feed. I love how you sum up the whole thing at the end: real people who were already vulnerable to begin with are getting hurt by all this and it has to be called out. It's wild that you can be called a hater by pointing out that these types of businesses are predatory.

And don’t even get me started on the BLM movement. $60M+ in one year and we barely see any change. Damn, I haven't heard that saying but it is so true. I've always hated when people just stick up for others based on race, regardless of the circumstances. Trust me, I know my own white community is horrible about this too... maybe this is my own bias speaking, but it seems to be a huge issue within the black community. I'm consistently blown away when I see black people being clearly taken advatange of by one of their own, but they'll defend that person just because their skin tone matches. Again, I know white people do this too... but I don't see them defend their own when they're the ones getting scammed, at least not very often. Sure, white people will irrationally defend their own, but if a person screws them over then they're pretty quick to turn on that person and quit defending them. I really wish we as a society would get away from this tribalistic mindset. I was lucky enough to marry into an extremely diverse family. It's awesome seeing such a large group of people from every different race/background you can imagine get together and just enjoy life. We can all talk openly about anything and everyone is simply a person. Life is too short and too hard to be wasting time on stuff like worrying about skin color. Just find people who have similar values to you and focus on enjoying it.

I didn't stick around long enough to learn more, but they are basically going after the most vulnerable and poor in their schemes.

bruh, "Plant sourced silica" you mean the sands thats on the damn roots? 🤣 Great video! My first MLM experience was vector/cutCo. Fortunately, a friend happened to be at the initial meeting. We didn't know or understand what an MLM was back then, but the whole setup didn't seem like a viable long term business to either of us (we were highschoolers at the time so the fact that children can see through this was hillarious). We ended up just leaving mid meeting. These MLM companies will go into highschools and ask for students phone numbers. That should be illegal. You can cover that on a deep dive video. Unfortunately you were right, the people who stayed at the meeting, and roasted us for giving up such a golden opportunity, were highschoolers with children, people who really needed a break, and people who didn't really understand how business works. I really hope content like this gets out to the right people.

The Credit repair services are another major scam going on. I worked with a guy briefly at a major Govt. Contractor who was very hooked into the DC political scene (family friends with Mayor) that just went and joined some 'start up' credit repair business aimed at minorities. He previously had to testify in hearings due to major issues with a Hospital their 3 person company was running which had no experience running hospitals ever (company included a relative of his and her husband. The husband stepped down from Boards in DC over the past few years due to 'perceived' corruption. They also had a family member hired to the Mayors team after a donation from that husband!). This Hospital contract was a No-bid contract awarded directly to them by Mayor. How evil do you have to be to award millions of dollars and give control of a Hospital to a 3 person company of your friends that have ZERO experience managing any kind of Healthcare facility, let alone a major Hospital?

Generational wealth absolutely requires financial education. Something like 70% of fortunes are lost in the first generation and 90% are lost by the second. Don't leave behind as much as possible for the kids, set them up with a minimum and let them know that while they will never starve or be without a home, if they want luxuries, it will have to be earned. That's how I intend to create generational wealth - and I will do it via Trusts. Remember: if you don't plan, you plan to fail

Idk about all that. Tony the closer and a few others has been exposing alot of scams but because alot of these scammers have money the regular folks eat that shit up and they turn against the people who are exposing the scammers. What I’ve come to realize is to not look bad as a race people will allow all sorts of shit to happen to their own kind because they don’t wana be perceived a certain way. I mean the most common rhetoric the scammer fans make is “see when a black man gets a little bit of money they always wana hate” mfer it’s not hate it’s people in the community tryna hold other people accountable but because people in the community know they will have to hold themselves accountable it’s a lot more easier to just tell people to mind their business then to hold yourself accountable for the mistakes of your people.

Man. your work is for real. I stumbled on this in a rabbit hole, but it's work like this that makes me jump down them in the first place. Just wanted to encourage one thing. Deep Dives like this. I can already see you have a SERIOUS gift for it, and with the way you roll these are only going to get better. Educating and informing people is a CAUSE, a noble one, and you have a voice and presence built for it. Keep it up. I'll be listening.

I can’t believe I’m catching you before 5k subscribers. I wish you continued success! I used to sell Cutco to my family and luckily at that time they didn’t require me to put a down deposit or anything, I just didn’t make much money and what little money I made was on my parents and uncles buying some knives that were overpriced and unnecessary. Crazy how these scams are still running strong.

I sold Cutco here on Long Island. I think their goal was to sell you that starter sales kit. It was only like $100. My parents still have the knives 25 years later. My dad used to be a butcher and he said the knives are actually very good quality. But yeah Cutco was definitely very scammy.

FWIW Vector Marketing is a legitimate sales company with CUTCO. I was a district manager for them for four years. It was an awesome decision for me, but it definitely depends on if your manager gives a shit about you or not. I've heard tons of stories that didn't match my experience, but are almost certainly true. Sucks that y'all had bad experiences.

I'm glad this showed up in my recommended videos. I watch a lot of anti-MLM and anti-scam content to keep myself educated and to help warn my friends about these awful companies. You broke it down in a very easy-to-understand way in a top-notch edited video that's as entertaining as it was informative. I definitely appreciated the humor peppered in here and there, too. Hope you do more content like this because the more knowledge people have, the more they can do to protect themselves from manipulative companies and people.

@@CamJames yeah that John Oliver video is excellent! My wife's sister and her husband recently signed up for "fractional real estate". Sounds exactly like a "time share", except it's not somehow. I didn't read the paperwork or ask too many questions, but I hope it turns out well for them. Instead of just being a single location, you can go to different places, but still seems pretty much the same as a timeshare. I'm sure there's probably some good use cases for fractional real estate, but I'm sure the majority of the companies are just scamming. In the end, I'd rather pay for a hotel or air bnb instead of signing any contracts.

Bro great video and great narration for everything. Let me tell you a funny story, I was finishing my undergrad while driving Uber to pay bills. Mind you I'm in my mid 30s and I just applied to Law School. I pick up this couple at a hotel and the trip was to the airport. Along with them was another lady that was with them but they didn't know, they met her at the hotel. So we start talking and they flew there for a "convention" . So now I'm thinking, cool... many professionals fly to conventions. Turns out when I asked what it was about, she was super secretive, and wanted to tell me it's a great opportunity, they were all amped up lmao I was like OH NO this sounds like a damn MLM and she just got hypnotized by what they fed her. So I'm telling her I'm in the process of becoming an attorney. She goes " Well if you do this opportunity you might forego those plans " , I did the biggest EYE ROLL I ever did in my life. OMG, you want me to stop my dreams of becoming an attorney to join a SCAM MLM?!?!?!!! I felt bad , she told me to exchange numbers with her husband and awkwardly I just kept silent. I dropped them off and that was it.
