Way back when I was pretty new to D&D in general and started buying 2nd Ed. Relatively early in my collection I bought the ‘From the Ashes’ box set and fell in love with the setting. The fact that TSR and WoTC kept reviving and abandoning Greyhawk rather annoyed me; so I want say I ABSOLUTELY LOVE this channel existing and that topics like this are being explored. The 3rd edition illustration of Mordenkainen looks like Ming the Merciless, and the 3rd edition illustration of Elminster looks like Sean Connery. Two very interesting artistic choices there.

Maybe was Iuz also going to either free his (half/step?) sister Drelnza (so she owes him a favor) or to kill her (to prevent her from potentially rising in power to challenge him)? Speaking personally, I reject utterly the current revision of Iggwilv being Tasha the Grinning Mage (let alone Natasha the Dark). I also reject the idea that Tasha the Grinning Mage is Natasha the Dark, daughter of Baba Yaga. For one thing, none of their abilities/powers match up. - Iggwilv has to be a dual-classed Cleric/Mage (minimum 17th lvl Cleric, 18th lvl Magic-User) to be able to use the 7th lvl Cleric spell Henley's Digit of Disruption (from the Demonomicon of Iggwilv) as well as be an Arch-Mage. She's also at least a Demigod in rank (Mother of Witches according to Revenge of Gorkai), if not a full Lesser Goddess. The latter seems to make sense if she is worshiped as Louhi as well as explain her inability to just directly intervene against the party during the Crook of Rao adventure (WG6 Isle of the Ape). - Tasha the Grinning Mage (which Chatdemon from Canonfire! made a relative of Zagig named Igla Yragerne) has to be at least a 12rh lvl Magic-User to cast Legend Lore (which is in her famous spellbook Lore of Subtle Communication”). - Natasha the Dark, other than her penchant for summoning/binding demons, is utterly unlike Iggwilv. The latter, per AD&D canon from Artifact of Evil, has blonde hair while the former has hair 'smoky dark'. Natasha the Dark is a dual-classed Illusionist/Magic-User and not even an Arch-Mage. I think Iggwilv is probably far more ancient than Zagig. I mean, she may even have been a young mage of the Suloise Empire before it fell and she started on her long road to Apotheosis. At least according to Deities & Demigods, attaining the rank of Demigod should require centuries to achieve. It took Zagig at least 2 centuries to do so, and he may have had a short cut by kidnapping the 9 Demigods.

I've always wanted to kill Iuz outright. Being that many of my elves hail from the Vesve, I have quite a grudge on him.

Iuz's timeline is a mess, and the post hoc idea of making Iggwilv his mother made it worse. It was definitely not the original intent, Gary came up with that writing the Good books. Remember Iggwilv was male in the original version of Tsojconth. I never liked the 10 year conquest thing that Sargent came up with. Per the guide, Iuz "has ruled the lands from the Howling Hills south to the Lake of Whyestil for ages longer than any man can live" IMO, Iuz has been there a long time, but the land of Iuz was more like an evil wilderness where he was nominally the ruler. 479 CY could be when he turned his domain into. more organized kingdom. The tie-in with Iggwilv does work nicely here, though, and she could have helped him turn his disorganized holdings into a more organized kingdom. It could also coincide with his ascension to demigod-hood, or just be a general expansion. But it was short-lived, and he ended up on a pedestal on dungeon level 4 of the Greyhawk Dungeons. Next you have to figure out how he helped Zuggtmoy start the ToEE and forge the Orb of Golden Death while he was trapped in the Greyhawk dungeons.,

It's crazy that Iggwilv is the mother of Iuz, but nowadays she's known as the funny haha cauldron lady.
