To this day, I think that the film is actually creepier than the first one. When I was a kid, the first Ghostbusters was pure and lighthearted entertainment, while Ghostbusters II was nightmare fuel.

Vigo was shown more than Gozer, so it makes sense. The second was trying to be light hearted since the cartoon had been out for a few years by then, but it still had its moments.

@@cammy85 The ironic thing is that despite the effort to make Ghostbusters II appeal to a younger audience by making it more like The Real Ghostbusters, it ended up being even scarier than the first film. Gozer was already scary, but in a different way. Vigo on the other hand felt more like a threat, but he was just the tip of the iceberg. Just think about the sequence in which the slime spreads across the city, the courtroom ghosts and Janosz abducting Oscar. As a kid, all those scenes have scared me like nothing else.

Ghostbusters II is an underrated, missunderstood classic. It is a good movied from start to finish. It has some funny jokes (like the Titanic-scene), creepy ghosts (The Scolery Brothers, do have I to write more?), the henchman to the villain of this movie Janush is both creepy and funny, even his introduction you feel uncomfortable (and has even two really legit creepy scenes, the one as him as the ghostly nanny when he kidnaps Oscar and the one where his eyes become flashlights to find his way through the dark hallway (seriously this scene sends shivers down my spine everytime I watch this move)) and of course on of the best villains in movie-history Vigo. Ghostbusters 2016 is awful.

I don't care what people say about the Sequel back in 1989 I watched Both Ghostbusters 1 and 2 in the Late 90's and seem to Enjoy Both but I liked Ghostbusters 2 more than 1

Ghostbusters 1 was more adult with the smoking and sexjokes (lol Venkman haha!) and the second movie is more family friendly 'though i think the slimeriver is scary as an eleven years old lol. Viggo was a better villain in my opinion and the songs are also much more enjoyable. both movies are great

Yes, especially because it meant he wasn't on trial, and therefore wasn't able to be a part of the battle with the Scoleri Brothers. He should have been in every scene with the other 3 guys, not just the birthday party sequence.

I wonder if he simply quit the team offscreen after the birthday party scene only to agree to come back when the Vigo/slime situation was escalating. Think of it this way: Louis did get his moment albeit because the Ghostbusters defeated Vigo, but can you imagine if he had accompanied them instead. No offense to Louis; but good on you, Winston!!

@@cammy85 The Ghostbusters were disbanded. It's possible Winston had another job, but I don't remember if they mentioned it. At any rate, Winston was hired help and not a scientist. So I don't know if they needed him when they were just engaged in research and not busting ghosts.
