Like his shadow, he stands near Gukesh. He looks calm on the exterior, but there is always some tension running underneath that calm demeanour. His job is to take care of Gukesh. But it's not a simple one as he is both the father and the manager. In this interview we get to know the role played by Rajinikanth in making sure that Gukesh becomes the champion at the FIDE Candidates 2024. We also get his thoughts on the beautiful team that he is building around Gukesh - from Gajewski the trainer to Sandeep Singhal (WestBridge) the sponsor. A revealing and heartfelt interview.

The image that will remain with me is when Gukesh won a game, exited the venue, made it through the raucous crowd of fans, and entered the awaiting van to the hotel. Gukesh immediateky turned and locked eyes on his dad to ensure dad also made it through the crowd safely. That was all the information I needed. 👍
