Tracey Crouch MP and Kim Leadbeater MP are members of parliament who work together across policy lines to put wellbeing at the center, through initiatives like their Tackling Loneliness and Connected Communities All-Party Parliamentary Group. In a panel discussion about The Role of Politics moderated by Managing Director of the World Wellbeing Movement, Sarah Cunningham, they discuss their shared passion for issues around health, wellbeing, and social connection. After her sister Jo Cox was killed, Kim Leadbeater decided to continue her legacy working on issues she cared about, like loneliness. In March 2023, she launched a report called Healthy Britain: A New Approach to Health and Wellbeing Policy to advocate for using a “health and wellbeing lens” to evaluate policy. Tracey Crouch, who is proud to have been the world’s first minister on loneliness, shared her mission to remove the stigma of loneliness by understanding and bringing awareness how loneliness can affect people at all points of life. This can help people recognize loneliness in themselves.
