Keef, the riff king strikes again. Richards will never be listed in the pantheon of guitar gods. But nobody writes a better riff.

Keef and Ronnie and their "Ancient Art of Weaving" intertwined guitar style...not straight lead, not just rhythm... so, so good.

The riff is all Keith but a lot of the intricacies in the guitar work is coming from Ronnie. This album brought the Stones into a new musical direction to keep current with changes in the music scene at the time. I remember when the album came out and thinking When the Whip Comes Down was the only song that reminded me of their previous stuff and I wasn’t 100% on board with this “new sound” coming from the band. Years later I came to really appreciate the genius of it!

A little blues, a little funk, a little country, a lotta jams. This has to be one of my top 5 Stones songs. Everything about it is so damn smooth.

There is not a bad song on this album. For some real country/western vibes, listen to “Far Away Eyes.” Hell, just do the whole album. Its excellent. 🫶🤘

1978 was a great year for music fans.

So many people say Mick is a poor singer---he is anything but. What he can bring to a song is unequaled from deep baritones to falsetto. He also gives it everything.

The Stones music is timeless. Glad to see another generation enjoying their unique vibe , there really isn’t any other band that comes close to their ability to venture into so many genres but keep true to their sound . Give Let it Bleed a listen .

Hypnotic drums by the late Charlie Watts, RIP. ( I have long loved his style, since the age of 14, and I'm now 59 yrs old in 2024) This track here is a premium timeless classic! Once again, you both gave a warm and appreciative reaction, you fellas are awesome at keeping great music alive!

Records produced in the 70's had such a great analog timber and vibe.

You're mentioning the guitar work and this song demonstrates very well the signature 2 guitar sound with Keith Richards and Ronnie Wood alternating leads. It's one of the best attributes of the Stones throughout their history that they always have that 2nd guitar opposite Richards - starting with original member Brian Jones and then Mick Taylor and then finally Ronnie Wood since the mid-70's.
