Just one of the great rock songs of all time. They never had more swagger than on "Jumpin' Jack Flash". This was the opening statement of the Stones imperial period.

Now we're talking...This is the great transition, where they transcend their influences and alchemize what became, for a time, the greatest rock and roll band. Belatedly but accurately realizing they had little to offer the hippies, and with the absolutely transformative meeting of Jimmy Miller, they went, from 68-to roughly 72 to become The World's Greatest etc. This single let everyone know they had a new sound, and Beggar's Banquet (although it didn't include-or need-this song) laid it out for the first time in album length. The riff, the recording itself, the tone of the vocals, the swag and sway is and are their very essence. (A wholly inappropriate cousin to this song, the deliciously filthy 'Stray Cat Blues' is a hidden gem on Beggars). They were a great 60's band for many reasons, and their place there in history is secured. However, this is where their mojo matured, and I'm glad you're here!

I genuinely think 1967-1972 Rolling Stones is the greatest "rock" band ever. There are bands that I technically enjoy more, but Jesus Christ they were on fire during that era

One of my favourites - other 1960s Stones songs that I love are The Last Time, It's All Over Now and Street Fighting Man. Thanks so much for reacting to this fab song, guys, really good reaction as always, so glad you enjoyed it, take care and all the best. PS Congratulations on 40k plus subscribers!

@@SpaceCattttt As Bob Dylan said, “Everything that came after them, metal, rap, punk, new wave, pop-rock, you name it… you can trace it all back to the Rolling Stones,” it’s a reflection of the band’s lasting imprint on the most precious parts of music. “They were the first and the last and no one’s ever done it better.” Bob would know more than you. And, even if you disagreed with him, he’d laugh at you and ask what you accomplished.

According to Bill Wyman, the lad at the top who used to be the bass player for the Stones, it was Brian Jones who came up with the riff that you hear in this song. A classic with that driving rhythm so characteristic of the Rolling Stones.

The Rolling Stones are considered the bad boys of rock & roll. I grew up with their early stuff. My favorite era of The Rolling Stones is from the 60's British Invasion. I loved the "Flowers" album. They had a lot of great early hits such as "(I Can't Get No) Satisfaction", "Get Off of My Cloud", "Paint It Black", "Ruby Tuesday", "Let's Spend the Night Together", "Jumpin' Jack Flash", "Honky Tonk Women", "You Can't Always Get What You Want", "Gimme Shelter", "Tumbling Dice" & "Brown Sugar".

You should react to a few songs from "Exile On Main St."! Songs like 'Rocks Off', 'All Down the Line', and 'Stop Breaking Down' are perfect songs to listen too. Fun fact: In 1972, the Stones were literally exiled from UK for "tax exile" and got screwed over by record label ABKCO, thus fleeing to the country of France where they recorded half of the albums music in the city of Nellcôte. The album is very diverse in some genres of music from Rock, Blues, Country, Jazz, some Psychedelia music and Gospel. Although it received mixed reviews at it's time, "Exile..." would be voted at 14th of the 500 Greatest Album's of All Time by Rolling Stone magazine! It's also my favorite album of theirs so I hope you check it out!

This is a song I use to judge musicians on their student-skills. How dedicated are they to using the correct tuning? How willing are they to 'work' to get it to sound right, or just willing to fake it? Audiences can tell - they all jump up and down during the first first, but by the end of the song, when the audiences' enthusiasm wanes, an experienced watcher can tell. And those band members can see that, too. Oops... it's one thing to put out half-effort - it's another thing to realize the audience is faking it, too.
