Love this song 🎵 ❤️ 💕, this is what got Mick and Keith back together. They were at odds and then came this song. It was about their feelings about their fued. This was about ending the fued and moving and realizing that their friendship was stronger than any disagreement. 62yrs says it all. Ty,for this song cause it brought back the best band in the world 🌎 back together. Keep rockin and rolling always.

Lots of people talk about Charlie and he deserves it. They don’t talk much about Bill Wyman but I think his bass was just as fundamental to the classic Stones sound.

@@martyconroy3786 Thank you. It's been said that Charlie was a jazz drummer, and he agreed to play drums with a fledgling London club R&B cover band. The rest is history. Charlie had also noted that he didn't relish being a "rock drummer" with any other band other than The Stones, although he did support other rock acts here and there including the 1983 Concert for A.R.M.S. Charity Tour in honor of Ronnie Lane. (Bill also supported that tour.)

I came to listen to this song having not heard it for a while. It blows my mind that this was over 30 years ago. I saw this tour at Cincinnati and Indianapolis and they simply rocked ass. I caught the Tattoo You tour in Chicago about 8 years earlier and it was incredible. I've been a Stones fan since the early 70's and it's just amazing to me the talent and energy of these guys still shines even now. Within the past two years, the Stones released a critically acclaimed new Album of blues covers, embarked on yet another successful tour, and released a brand new song in the Covid19 era, Living in a Ghost Town. These cats are true musicians through and through. Nothing but respect to the Rolling Stones.

My number one from this time period is Mixed Emotions. I really appreciated Bill Wyman, he never played each part of a song the same way, which was so cool. In this song the Stones do so much with so few chords. Love the separation of the guitars into left and right channels and I remember listening repeatedly to the song just to hear the bass doing so many different things.

Button your lip, baby Button your coat Let's go out dancing Go for the throat Let's bury the hatchet And wipe out the past And make love together Stay on the path You're not the only one With mixed emotions You're not the only ship Adrift on this ocean This coming and going Is driving me nuts This to-ing and fro-ing Is hurting my guts The get off the fence now You're creasing your butt Life is a party Let's get out and strut, yes You're not the only one With mixed emotions You're not the only ship Adrift on this ocean You're not the only one That's feeling lonesome You're not the only one With mixed emotions You're not the only one You're not the only one Let's grab the world By the scruff of the neck And drink it down deeply And love it to death So button your lip, baby Button your coat Let's go out dancing Let's rock 'n' roll yeah You're not the only one With mixed emotions You're not the only ship Adrift on this ocean You're not the only one That's feeling lonesome You're not the only one With mixed emotions Mixed emotions You're not the only one You're not the only one You're not the only one You're not the only one You're not the only one You're not the only one

Yes..after they put out Exile,( personally I think it's the best double album ever)they were taken for granted. Both Goat's Head Soup & Black And Blue are damn good albums, as well as Steal Wheels, but the critics have always been fickle and shallow for the most part.

It's a china. That's why it sounds so distinctive and so powerful. Charlie srarted to use a china as a crash cymbal in late 70/early 80. On all Stones album since Emotional Rescue. Listen to She's so cold, She was hot, had it with you, hearts for sale, sparks will fly, low down... And many others. And of course all live stuffs from 80's to 2019.

Probably the best track on the Steel Wheels LP, IMHO. It also marked a comeback of sorts for the Stones, after Mick and Keith grew apart during most of the 1980s. This video and song is such a joyous reunion moment for the Stones, with their return to the mainstream!
