One of my top three Rolling Stones Tracks. Great remix, Pat despite the poor original recording!. It always sounds to me that the master was recorded well into the red!!

There was a true stereo mix of this song from the late 70's-early 1980's, but it wasn't issued in the US at first; it was available in Japan and Germany. This one sounds a bit different from that 40-year old stereo mix, adding some reverb and placing the instrumental separation a bit different than it was in 1965. I can't remember if The Stones originally recorded this at RCA studios (where they also recorded "Satisfaction" in stereo) or Chess studios in Chicago. Either way, it sounds great in stereo, and it's not played in stereo on oldies radio too often. Usually the oldies stations and streaming services play the original mono single version. Good job.

Much better music is done this way and this opens up a lot of what this tune really sounds like and not to leave out a genuine classic hit of 1965 to boot.

Great new remix, Pat! But I'm glad I still have your older Stones remixes saved. I will compare them with great pleasure and decide at my leisure which ones to keep.
@radiowollaton8521Ай бұрын
Thanks Gerhard. I've been comparing my new Stones remixes to the old ones. The main fault is that the levels of the vocals are too low. With splitting software that is no longer a problem.

Seemed to attract a wee bit of controversy and has much familiarity with the Staple Singers, ‘This may be the last time’, which is a gospel type record (many claims of a rip-off). Also listened to Verve record ‘Bitter Sweet Symphony’ which had been officially based on some snatches of the Stones song. Stones manager Alan Klein said the Verve used more than was agreed. Some familiarity in the Verve record. Court case gave all royalties over to the Stones but Jagger and Richards returned the money over 20 years later. All records are good and Last Time guitar riff another Stones gem. Great sound Pat.

🎧👍👍 Hi, Pat: I really loved this song when in my early teens. I thought the bass was a little lacking but maybe it's just that I never noticed that this is the way it has always been. The mix is very good and it is very clear sound. As I grew older, I boiled my favourites down to two songs, Lady Jane and Wild Horses. The boys look all prim and proper in their nice suits, even Mick. Thank you for another good remix. I have always thought that posing without a cigarette is best.
@radiowollaton8521Ай бұрын
Thanks Bill. The sound quality of the original mix was truly awful. I boosted the bass as much as I could, but I couldn't improve it massively. And cigarettes were never cool to me !

The Vocal work on the Last Time is superb. One of the best Rolling Stones original recordings, I think THE best.. Toppled by Unit 4+2 with Concrete And Clay, the vocal work on that particular record was even better. UK Pop history showed the latter group were soon off the radar whereas the Rolling Stones went from strength to strength that their next releases went on to receive global sales and you don't need me to state how their career went on from there. The Decca Record Company really DID sign up a goldmine when they gave the Rolling Stones a recording contract.

This seems like how it should have sounded, brilliant. I'm not an expert, but guessing it was recorded at 7.5 IPS, but you've made it sound 15 IPS! Charlie's drums sound so much clearer! Anything else by The Who would be much appreciated (your Substitute mix is a gem). They had that "low-res" production on some great songs much like the Stones.
