The Roman soldier traditionally associated with witnessing the crucifixion of Jesus Christ is not explicitly named in the canonical Gospels of the New Testament. However, he is often referred to as the centurion. The Gospel of Matthew (27:54) states:
"Now the centurion, and those who were with him keeping guard over Jesus, when they saw the earthquake and the things that were happening, became very frightened and said, 'Truly this was the Son of God!'"
In the Gospel of Mark (15:39), a similar account is provided:
"When the centurion, who stood facing him, saw that in this way he breathed his last, he said, 'Truly this man was the Son of God!'"
The Gospel of Luke (23:47) also mentions the centurion's response:
"Now when the centurion saw what had taken place, he praised God, saying, 'Certainly this man was innocent!'"
In these accounts, the centurion acknowledges the extraordinary events that accompanied Jesus' death, such as the earthquake and the manner of his passing, and makes a statement affirming Jesus as the Son of God or an innocent man.
It's important to note that while the biblical accounts emphasize the centurion's recognition of the significance of Jesus' death, they do not provide a detailed personal narrative for this Roman soldier. The additional details about a specific Roman soldier named Longinus, who pierced Jesus' side with a spear and subsequently converted, are not found in the canonical Gospels but are part of later Christian traditions and apocryphal writings.

The tearing of the temple veil signified the new covenant - one by which the sacrifices of the temple were redundant. Jesus foretold the destruction of the temple where not one stone would be left on another. The Jewish temple was destroyed by the Romans in AD 70. The Sacrifice was that of the new Covenant- the Mass, celebrated by the priests - the Apostles and their successors. The name of the centurion while recorded in documents dating from the 5th century, would have been known by tradition. These were people who died for their faith - they took it seriously and recorded it faithfully. The significance of the passage of John is that when the lance pierced Jesus (completely in accordance with the prophecies), water and blood gushed from His body - a phenomenon that was highly unusual. The Sacrifice in the temple resulted in water and blood gushing from the temple - the blood of hundreds of thousands of animals at Passover. Remember the exact time of His death was the exact time of the great hymn of Passover, when the slaughter of the sacrificed victims was taking place. Hence the significance of the hour at which He died - the reason He is called ‘the Lamb of God.’

The water gushing out is referencing the high priest duty of what’s known as the water libation ceremony, purifying oneself in order to perform the sacrificial service. A precursor pointing to Messiah, instituted by God himself in His blessed Torah. Any Jew or proselyte would’ve been astonished, recognizing that to be a sign of the Messiah…. as did the Centurion thus his reaction.. This truly is the son of God!

Do you know Jesus name did not exist in the time of Jesus ? There was no letter J .Letter J was added later in translation to English. Yeshuha is the true name of Jesus that translates to Joshua in modern day teachings. Why the secret? To keep the name of our Lord hidden for evil purposes. He is known as Saint Longinos!! According to the sources he left the Roman army along with 2 other soldiers and returned to his home in Cappadocia. There he preached about Christ. The people in Jerusalem didn't like that and had Pilatus sent soldiers to Cappadocia to arrest him and the two soldiers. They were beheaded and that's is why he has become a Saint. His name is celebrated by the Greek Orthodox church on 16 October. There is a small chapel built for him next to the Church of resurrection in Jerusalem!!

The Holy spirit lives in all of those that are saved and he convict us if sin, and He is our comforter. A person can hinder the Holy Spirit and sin, however those that go back to the life they had after professing believing in Christ, can either be backsliders or what the Bible refers to " we're never one of us", meaning they were never save.

Even though there are three persons, Father , Son and Holy Spirit, they all do work together in the process of Salvation. Yes, because we want to trust ourselves, and because in our day putatively wise people constantly tell us that high self-esteem brings success.” The Bible makes it pretty clear that true born-again transformation is fundamentally a transformation of one’s heart (referenced in the context to that of one’s spirit.) Yes there is a difference. A man’s trusting in his own mind will lead him astray. Trusting in his heart through faith will lead him to God.

The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep.”…. Matthew 6:33….. Jesus willingly laid his life down for us so that we might be saved. All that Jesus suffered, he allowed it to be so. Jesus told the repentent theif, "You will be with me in paradise." There is no question,Jesus rose from the dead. When the earthquake occurred, and the graves opened, it was not hidden from the people. When Jesus rose, so many people saw Him, it brought an end to the Jewish sacrificial system. Even with the most terrible persecution, Christianity spread faster than horesemen could travel. It's because everyone was talking about it, and words traveled faster than horses or ships in that time.

Earthquakes, hurricane like storms, tearing of the temple wall, open graves with the saints coming into town? The Romans, who were meticulous record keepers, and certainly would have made mention of events this incredible, instead say … absolutely nothing. There’s no mention of these amazing occurrences outside the Bible. Zero real, historical evidence they ever happened. None. It’s a folk tale at best.

Please read your Bible. This earthquake happened whilst Jesus was on the Cross. He was placed in the tomb 3 days & 3 nights but "Christianity" taught by Roman Catholicism can't count & make up all sorts of stuff to keep their converts staring at anything except knowing the scripture to be able to test if they worship the true Christ or the man of Lawlessness of 2 Thessalonians. The Protestant daughters often just follow along with Xmas & Easter & Sundays instead of Passover taught in the NT & Sabbath's as Jesus was Lord of the Sabbath. Jesus taught it correctly instead of the tradition of the Jews that changed the Law of God given to Moses to teach God's chosen people. Blessings

Yes definitely there were enough signs for him to be convinced truely Jesus is the Son of God, and it was revealed to the centurian by the power of the Holy Spirit. I like to think the centurion did convert, the idea of him facing severe punishment for something he could not have prevented seems less than right, especially after Jesus had just asked God the Father to forgive them for they didn't know what they are doing. It was a roman who had so much faith in Jesus that he said that he was unworthy for the lord to even enter underneath his roof, that all he needed was for Jesus to say the word and the one who he sought to be healed would be healed. That man, that gentile, that roman of all people had showed the most faith, if a that roman could display such faith in the lord, so too could this centurion turn his faith to Jesus.

There was a day when I didn't expect it, I suddenly watched the video clip of our Lord Jesus sufferings on the calvary of the cross. The only correction I have is that it said the two thieves ridiculed Jesus. One of the ones did not. He ridiculed the other thief. Saying, we got what we deserved for Jesus did not do anything. He looks at Jesus and ask if he can be remembered when Jesus goes. Jesus said you will come with me. “Summary in my own words”.

Judas was righteous and a zealot…and convinced that Messiah would be a military savior, which Jesus was not…ego allowed Judas to betray Jesus for 30 bits of silver. When he realized what he’d done, to whom he’d done it…he hanged himself. Ending all chance of forgiveness. Peter, that same night from ego, swore he’d follow Jesus even to death. Jesus foretold before a rooster crows, Peter would deny him 3x. He did…and wept bitterly. After the Resurrection, Jesus asks Peter 3x…do you love me? Peter, hurt, affirms that he does. Then Jesus the Risen Christ commands Peter…feed my people. Peter would be imprisoned, freed, captured again, beaten…then stood before the EMPEROR, at the time the most powerful man in the world. Peter would be crucified upside down…but would never deny Jesus again. The point? Peter ACCEPTED FAULT, repented, accepted forgiveness and followed Jesus with utter faith the rest of his life. Judas, even seeing all Peter saw Jesus do…couldn’t do this same, through pride, anger, impatience and self centeredness. Just my thoughts. Peace. May the Risen Jesus have mercy on us, and upon the world.

These videos are FANTASTIC!!!! I love how you stick to Biblical and historical accounts!! You take us deeper into our spiritual journey and fill in the missing parts that I have not taught in any church and that is saying a lot! My husband was in the military and we moved so often but also... My husband and I had similar backgrounds in religion and didn't want to join that church or raise our children in it. A very wise choice considering what it has turned into 😢 So many people deceived! That being said, we did try other churches but they either shocked us, left us empty or failed us in important ways. It did not hinder us from seeking out our Lord Jesus Christ. So with my deepest appreciation, thank you!!!

I love this story! It caused my husband and I to talk about this and just wonderful. My husband said no.one knows what happened to Jesus's cross. I said they probably used it again and again. My hope is that whomever was crucified next when the blood mingled, the person was saved, all the way through history to the last crucifixion on that cross. Yes I believe the Centurion and the their were both saved. As far as the narrator saying both reviled Jesus. Maybe at first they both did, but the theif had a heart change.

No only one repented and gave glory to Jesus and asked divine help when he comes in the kingdom of God the other made only evil remarks and never reconsidered even though he was in the same condemned position! Such the great gulf between one who could rise above the situation and see the truth while the other sank lower and lower with continuous blasheming and hatred he kind of represents the Pharisees Sadducees who refused to come to Jesus for life because PRIDE is their only King!!! The lesson to be learned is to humble ourselves while we have time still at any moment God can send back Jesus and the thief converted may be the first to see Jesus but Jesus will Glorify this repentant sinner gladly because of his confession which undoubtedly strengthened Jesus on the cross!!! But the other is going to weep and gnash his teeth upon seeing the Glorified Jesus and other thief then made a saint. There has never been a greater contrast then nor in the future day when God sends Jesus back from heaven Psalm 110:1-3😊😊😊😊😊😊

Yes ok God wants all men to be saved but God warns men to repent and gladly we witness the one probably on Jesus right hand give Glory to the son but why not the other? Because though on the cross condemned even at this point the first thief asks why doesn't he fear God ! You are never going to get closer to life eternal than being next to Jesus! Notice there is no response from the recalcitrant evil mouthed blasphemous thief so no not everyone wants to confess Jesus because of the hardness of heart and evil pride of life which obviously blinded the unrepentant thief!!! But the love of Jesus and willingness to humble himself though gladly for sure! We discern the great gulf that exists between those who only need a Glimpse of Jesus and are awestruck and nothing in heaven or earth can move evil minded hearts to even begin to seek truth at all ever. In 1996 after a very supernatural event I had a vision of Jesus on the Cross. Not only on the Cross but in his place feeling everything he felt and I saw one roman soldier. He had dark brown leather soldier gear on with little gold or brass buttons over the front of it with a helmet. He was white and tall, clean shaven. I never knew to look him up. It makes so much sense now. He had a long spear in his right hand staring up. Jesus was about 10 feet up in the air. Dark cobblestones on the ground. Clear sky almost dusk but very blue. Jesus was looking at him saying I love you so much, why are you doing this to me.... True story.
