I've actually never seen Gilmore Girls in its entirety, but it was the show that my grandma would always have on whenever we went to her house so I've absorbed a lot of episodes by proxy 🤣 I got 8%! Honestly, also shocking since I feel like I'm not that well read when it comes to classics, but I did also see some ones on this list that I remembered I'd wanted to finally pick up. Goal for 2023 as well, ig 😆

The bell jar by Sylvia Plath is incredible and super accessible despite its heavy themes. I just had a 14 yo student read it, so I’m pretty sure you’re old enough. 😂 I have a feeling you’ll appreciate it. And yes to Jane Eyre and Little Women being great autumn and Christmas reads respectively. Another recommendation from the list is “a room of one’s own” by Virginia Woolf. It’s a short stream of consciousness style feminist essay (i.e. rant) that imo is perfect to read in one or two sittings and never amiss, especially for someone at Uni in their early 20s. Reading it makes me wish Virginia were alive today to write critical essays about feminism and academia in our current times.

maybe i’ll have to pick up the bell jar a bit earlier then! i have definitely been considering picking up some virginia woolf, so maybe this is my sign to do that, it sounds like something i would really enjoy, thanks for the rec!!

Hot take but I love college Rory, and I love the college seasons. I think she goes through such a transformation and a coming of age in the college seasons. Like we all do honestly. I think it's relatable as hell. To have everything you thought you were and you thought you knew be challenged and changed by life and growing up and moving out of your childhood home. Ugh it's wonderful. I love college Rory and I accept her of all her faults.

I did the Gilmore girl readathon that Darling Desi and some others did. I made it half way through the audiobook of Alice in Wonderland for it but I couldn't hear it over my project so I just stopped. Also I just got a Gorgeous copy of Little Women that's black with white and gold flowers on it and gold pages plus a ribbon bookmark attached. I'm excited to read it!

I've never watched Gilmore girls but I have been thinking about watching it. Also, I don't read a lot of classics but I have read some, my favorite was To Kill a Mockingbird and the merchant of Venice.

My favourite season of gilmore girls gas to be either season 4 or 5, but that is mainly for the Luke and Lorelei content. I have read very little of the books on this list, but am really hoping to finally get to some more next year. My goal is to real 3 classics next year. Fingers crossed I can achieve it. Also love you videos.

I'm reading Jane Eyre right now and I am really enjoying it. I definitely recommend reading it, and you should definitely read it. I feel like its a winter read! You should pick it up sometime soon, I think you would really enjoy it!

i feel like everyone loves the picture of dorian gray so you should def pick it up! it’s also a very easy read as far as classics go, i need to read some sylvia plath myself at some point! so glad you’re loving her journals!!

I got 15% on the challenge. I read 51 of the books. The thing is is that I have read a ton of classics, but hardly any of the ones that I read were actually on that list. I have however read War and Peace and The Count of Monte Cristo. My favorite book of all time is Les Miserables.

I apparently have read 43? There were a lot of books that I wanted to check off because I’ve seen the movies 😂 but I didn’t. I can’t think of my favorite season but my mom & I love to quote “I’m going to the coat room to make out. Don’t eat my chicken.” 😂 & any time I eat a really good sauce I think of Lorelei saying to Sookie, “I could take a BATH in that sauce!” 😂 So random but so good 😅

If you loved Pride and Prejudice, you'll like Jane Eyre as well. It's definitely a fall type book. It's a gothic romance. Also, a great book to read after it is My Plain Jane. It's a twisted Jane Eyre story and it's hilarious and fills in some of the gaps of the story in the very best way. It's told in Charlotte Brontes pov and I absolutely loved that insight to the author.

I took the quiz last month and I don't remember the percentage, but I have read 57 books on the list. I don't have a favorite season, but I enjoy the first 3 seasons the most. I loved her and Dean together.

I’ve only read a few of these books for past English classes. I look more to have fun when I read, then reading something super dense that takes a lot of critical thinking. I finished The Lightning Thief last night and I am currently reading The Sea of Monsters. I read the first 5 book’s nearly a decade ago when I was in middle school. I always wanted to read the other 4 series by the author but just never got around to it. So, now is the time, apparently, and I will be reading Mr. Riordan’s books for the next few months. I am very excited! I remember my favorite character used to be Nico. I’m curious if that’s still true. I’ll have to leave an edit in a bit if it’s still true.

Never understood the Gilmore Girls hullabaloo. Rory goes from goody goody to sleeping with a married man and getting arrested. The mom never shuts up; never takes a breath lol. Plus, she acts 16 the first few seasons. So annoying. 😏

I have read Jane Eyre and it's actually so amazing!! I loved it so much! I really need to Re-read it soon. Perhaps you could do it as a bookclub pick? Also. I'm Reading Anna Karenina atm and what I do is read one chapter a day because that book has 239 Chapters. I might start War and Peace and read one chapter a day lol

I have read 11 out of the 339 books the Rory read. Mind you I read most of them in high school. But would definitely re-read them. I think I may do this challenge but over the course of a few years cause there are a lot of hard hitters in that list.

10:42 YES THANK YOU i also want to add that Rory has a sort of limited book taste and the classics she reads are mostly written by (white) north american and European authors As someone who loves classics but has read 30 books on this list, I try to remind myself that Rory isn’t really reaching out to new and diverse authors and this may make the list a little outdated loved the video btw

My favorite season of GG is season one because Rory is still pure and Jess doesn't exist yet lmao. I love him in later seasons... like way later. When he's an adult. But I feel like the downfall of Rory started when Jess appeared so it kind of tainted his character for me.

i agree that jess isn’t a very good influence in rory’s life honestly, love him, but not with rory when they’re younger, but i would love to see them together as adults👀
