I disagree. I'm not sure that they want the glory and honor. This is what they were born to do. It may seem a ridiculous anachronism to many, but to others, it's just the way things are. The Brits have a system incomprehensible to many, particularly here in the USA, but it is 1000 years old. More recently the Royals are actually WORKING. I can't tell you exactly how it works, but I believe the Princess Royal supports over 200 charities. There is much to admire about them, if you want to see it.
