Ah, yes...back when wedding gowns in general looked appropriate for a wedding, and not fitted more to be worn on the wedding night than the wedding day.

I know 'obey' was part of wedding vows back in the day but hearing it said just makes me roll my eyes. I'm old enough to remember when that was said but it seems so antiquated now and I'm by no means a feminist.

Pronounced "man and wife". At least that is not said anymore. More like "husband and wife". The bride does not have to say "to obey" anymore either.
