Medication does help, but my son is also schizophrenic and he refuses to take his medication. He says it makes him feel that something isn't right. It's a tough situation. That's a common reaction to medication. They feel the voices are normal for them, and I'm sure they miss them when they're gone. The big danger is suicide. I hope this elderly couple get some support, and Sasha will cooperate with treatment. Not all schizophrenics do.

Sasha is definitely suffering from schizophrenia, but of course that doesn't mean he doesn't have PTSD as well. According to Bessel Van Der Kolk, who wrote an amazing book called "The Body Keeps the Score", the majority of the Vietnam veterans he treated for PTSD didn't develop it because of the terrible things that they endured, but because of the terrible things they had done themselves. It is guilt that does the most damage.

I am wondering if the young man was exposed to cult like stuff in college when he went away for school. I would like to know more. He is definitely being tortured and needs to be set free.

This young man needs to be evaluated, and placed on Medication! What if his thoughts tell him to murder his Grandparents? It would be safer for all if he was taken away till the medication is working. Thank you for sharing his story. Hugs!

Seems like a good guy who needs help. Like he is no harm to anyone if anything more a risk to himself.

I understand Sasha's beliefs. We ARE slaves to the devil here. He is not wrong. The challenge is to remain in the world but not OF the world. I LOVE his grandparents. His grandmother is the sweetest and selfless

If you identify this much with Sasha´s obvious schizophrenic delusions, seek counseling.

I think you showed a good example by giving to the grandparents in front of him to show him what he should be doing. She should try to keep him busy with chores.
