Just wow. You’re a man, intellectually speaking. Me, I am currently seeking more cosmical understanding of Christ and God and the Spirit through my daily life. This video I know for certain will drive me to my own Notes app (on my phone) because there’re some worthy quotes to note. God be with you. I am a believer that assembles with the “Churches of Christ”. I would love to know you, because I have admiration for you. And because I’ve seen your videos about Truth (as revelation of God), I love you. I don’t know if in the mind of Christ we are brothers, but still I look forward to the resurrection of the dead and the life of the world to come.

here's how I've always seen it, maybe it helps someone reading this: in christianity there's a rational approach, there's emotional approach and then there's truth. truth goes beyond either the emotional or the rational approach. both approaches are valid, it just depends on what kind of person you are. one of my favorite passages of the NT is the Emmaus story cos it's incredibly subtle. Jesus joins the followers and they talk about scripture, yet they do not recognise Him.(rational) They conveyed the story of the empty tomb to Jesus (emotional). Still, no recognition it was Jesus in front of them. Then they invite Him in to share a meal and He breaks the bread and only at this point they recoginise Him. The realisation of the real presence of Christ, a fact, truth, beyond rationality comprehension, it just is. Also a strong argument for the real presence of Christ during the Eucharist, then again, as a catholic im biased ofc. ;-)

I also pray that God reveals Himself to you. Have you considered attending an Orthodox Christian worship service? I am not promising that you'll have some great mystical revelation of God there, but it might help you on your journey.

Also, you might enjoy the book "Philosophers Who Believe," which is a collection of 11 spiritual autobiographies written by philosophers who are Christians, some of whom converted to Christianity. You may find Mortimer J. Adler's story helpful.

@Durnyful I used to do that, it doesn't make sense to me. If god wants me to know his existence and I also want to know about his existence, shouldn't it be very easy and obvious?

@maxhagenauer24 Jesus said persistence/perseverence is required. Read the gospels too, that's how Jesus's voice became clear to me. It's actually a mystery how and when this happens so be persistent and you are doing your part

James B Jordan is brilliant, may you also address his book the liturgy trap though? I don't know if you're aware of it but he has some critiques on catholicism, orthodoxy etc in that book. Maybe make a critique on it?

@@telosbound Also, it’s good that we see the benefit in some other groups and peoples contributions to Christianity. We can be staunchly Orthodox and still see the truth in Heterodox books(this “The Spiritual Combat,” or many of CS Lewis’ writings). All truth is Gods truth.

@telosbound My roomate recently grew 100gs of shrooms in our basement and really wants me to try them with him. I'm convinced that psychedelics are completely opposed to Orthodox Christian morality and spiritualality, even though admittedly I have had pleasant experiences with acid in the past. I'm not very good at giving a good answer as to why I think this way and refuse to join him, if you have an article about Orthodox opinion on psychedelics, or know of a good one, I would very much appreciate it. This is an extremely important topic as the use of psychedelics is going to continue to increase in our society and there should be a solid Orthodox response to this issue.
