@@Bellicosi863 no kosem wasn't the actual reason, it's that Ahmet had a good bonding with Mustafa, Ahmet had seen his elder brother getting executed in front of him but Ahmet decided if he becomes the sultan, he will not kill any of his brothers and sons, Ahmet kept his words, two times Mustafa was almost getting killed by the jannisaries and that was stopped by Ahmed himself

@@rhaella90 the Mufi would grant permission if and only if it was for the interest and better meant of the empire and for its prosperity. there were numerous times when the Mufi would reject this wish of the sultans'. The western empires used to have succession crises due to not have any sons many times. Have you not read about King Henry VIII who had married and killed and beheaded 4 of this 6 wives just to get a male heir? Your point about the ottoman vanishing is totally pointless and makes no sense. The ottomans were finished after their loss in WW1 and due to many other struggles including incompetent rulers. And before the empire was finished, for 300 years then did practise fratricide.

It’s a drama.. Most of the things are fictional. No one knows why Mustafa was actually killed. There is no actual answer to this in history. You cannot pray like this for real sultan. We never know how he actually was.

Only the characters and some events are based on reality, but not everything you’ve watched is true. For instance, it’s portrayed that Mahidevran got Mehmed killed, but according to history, Prince Mehmed died due to illness only. There isn’t any book that explicitly explains why the sultan killed Mustafa. If such information exists, I’d love to know the name of the book so I can read it.🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️

Yes cuz murad was left with no option as they all were plotting against him but in case of Suleyman he knew Mustafa was loved n gifted.. There r many who debate that he betrayed or not but one thing is commonly agreed among all that he was way more worthy than the rest..He resisted decisions with logic cuz latter in Suleyman's life he made soo many rash desicions just to satisfy his pride...Musfata was raised to be proud n fearless n his entire life he was told to be worthy to be a king n when he did he was killed to be sooo much worthy that ppl wanted him rather than Suleuman.. The poems wrote on him dispite of punishments inflicted upon whoever wrote for him r living proofs of his might.. But I never claim that Suleyman was less worth.. He was one of the greatest king to live in history but he left the empire in darkness.. He was the reason of collapse😢

U should read how kosem sultan plotted to dethrone him.. There r many historians who claim that she poisoned him to death.. She killed Ibrahim.. Mustafa was killed because some states men wanted to use him knowing he was crazy....i don't defend Murad in that case but in case of his brothers they were all traitors.. At one point or another they plotted against him.. Under the influence of kosem sultan they did posed threat.. I know it is not fair but it was game of throne.. Either u win or u die 🙃

it’s because the ottoman law said that a new sultan has the right and is supposed to kill his brothers to maintain order. The brothers might rebel and they wanted to avoid civil wars. Still very sad though

In the beginning it was deliberate, create competition so that the sons are forced to get better in order to gain the throne or die in the process. Later on they just spent way too much time in the harem/were forced into it by their mothers or sultanas.
