I don't think it's more or less, I think it either is or it isn't. The industry is mostly in California, but that's not culture, it's just trade and media attention. Culture is an ethos, attitude, and a way of life. It's located wherever you find it, and no geographic region has a monopoly on it.

I don't see any issue, as I think that whoever you are put against, you had a fair chance of winning. Why put him up against weaker opponents when eventually he would have battled the victor anyway?

@@eddievanrijs7584 Yeah, that's the best-case scenario and I also really hoped Jonny Giger would win. But now he can also complain about Jamie Griffin being against Sewa or anyone you favor more who's against Luan in the first round or many other early battles, which could potentially be the finals. You have to beat them all if you want to be a true champion.

Whether or not Jonny is "core" or foreign is irrelevant. Jonny is an amazing skater with extremely consistent basics as well a bottomless bag of inane tricks on lock. Trouble is he gets nervous and doesn't perform his best under pressure. Jamie, on the other hand, seem impervious to pressure, so it doesn't affect his skating during competitions. The other issue is strategy. Jonny went for a lot of super hard tricks out of the gate. But the reality is that grinding every stance of every basic trick from the bottom up is a far more reliable approach in a standard game of SKATE. I'd love to see Jonny win, but unless these two factors change, we may never see it happen.

A game of skate isn’t about being able to do the craziest tricks. It’s about consistency across the board. Giger loses because he doesn’t have as firm of a grasp of the basics as many conventional pros.

In theory crazy tech flatground skaters would make a great game but most time in real life the games fail. People "think - in theory" Mullen would destroy people but in real life he would get destroyed. Game of skate is mostly dominated in consistency of the basic vocabulary tricks in all four stances which most of these crazy tech flatground skaters lack. I’ve know Giger when he had it vs P Rod. He made some vids bout can I beat finals berrics without being there. Follow the whole career on YT and IG. And He goes home with essential or basic tricks. 😢

Don´t trust on those YT videos. First, recording yourself is not the same stress and nerves like to be in the actual finals night with crowd and money on the line. Second, how do you know that those videos are not edited and if not, how many tries did he do to land all those final nights tricks in a row? Maybe a lot or even days to get out with the video. He has proven to all that he is no consistent with the basics in a set like the Berrics
