I love how ruthless this game is. You’re not playing the hero, you’re not even an anti-hero, you straight up play the villain and you’re just making sure every other villain you go up against is below you. And the rest of your crew thinks the exact same thing.

The boss and Gat were literally one of the most intimidating characters ever. The way Gat killed Shogo legit made me scared of him and it truly was one of the most satisfying moments in gaming

God SR2 was built different. One minute you're spray painting houses with shit, and the next you're terrorizing a lead guitarist on stage and utterly destroy his hand (and his career). In a world full of lunatics, criminals, and psychopaths, the Boss in SR2 was the undisputed king. THIS is what a true murder-machine looks like.

The one thing I'm thankful for is that Johnny Gat never changed throughout whatever game we played. Hell, even in Agents of Mayhem, he's still the Johnny Gat we love.

Making Maero kill his own girlfriend was the coldest shit I've ever seen. And Carlos's death was brutal and heart breaking. Saints Row 2 was by far the best one. Boss was brutal, ruthless and merciless.

Saints Row 2 was the definition of lightning in a bottle. Neither the first or the other sequels didn't even come close to what this game managed to do. Maybe we should just accept that they won't do better than this simply because they did this out of pure luck.

It wasn't really luck just a long development time,hard work, getting ex-cons/gangsters and anyone else to help make the game feel realistic while also balancing the wacky nature of the world.

I can agree on him sounding out of place because he doesn't have that gangster dialect but then that means that the other va's are out of place simply because they don't have that dialect. SR2s cutscenes always appeared movie like to me with the wide-screen ratio and seriousness-comedy they have. Also the fact I later found out they mocapped these scenes which definitely makes sense to why they feel real

I remember back when the Saints Row reboot was still in production that someone said they were going to basically do what the DOOM games did, and sorta reboot it starting from 3, but also kinda make 3 and IV canon in a sense. Basically, they would explain that Saints The Third and IV were actually a movie and a TV show, which would explain why the Boss was so drastically different in those games (even if he became a little more serious in SR4). I thought it was a great concept that made a lot of sense. Sadly, they didn't go this route.

Playa became The Boss, destroyed all the new gangs, killed the CEO of a major corporation that took over Saint's Row and finally claimed all of Stilwater. No one can stop the Saints now!

Jessica and Maero did something really mess up, brutal and sadistic with Carlos... Forcin' The Playa/The Boss to mercy kill Carlos. The Playa/The Boss makes Maero kill his own girlfriend (Jess) in a badass, satisfying, brutal set piece.

It becomes more justified when you figure out they didn't just dunk him in the nuclear waste. They had him sliced him up first, meaning he would have felt every inch of his body inside and out literally burning and boiling, then they chained him to the back of a fucking car and drove him through the streets...if anything, Jess got off fucking easy being crushed

Boss and Gat were just built different. There could be multiple gangs or even private armies after them from different cities or states and they'd still find a way to stomp them all. Fuck with them and you'd absolutely live to regret it. The rest of the Saints were just sidekicks, expendable. The real threat was these two gods among men.

Kenny Blank doesn't get enough credit. The Black Male Voice had some of the best delivery for his lines, that *_still_* hold up today. In fact I think he only got better as Saint's Row got zanier. He was already unhinged in 2, so he never felt out of place even when he became Space Emperor El Presidente. It's honestly gotten to the point I actually find it hard to play any other voice. *-(Not just because I'm black.)-*

Playing with the British accent, the way the Boss says, "A face shredder, just what I always wanted" makes me crack up. That and the cutscene where you kill Mr. Sunshine. "For fuck sake, die already!"

Me personally, I feel like the mexican voice in SR2 suits the overall atmosphere the best: he sounds more ruthless, more sarcastic, darker, especially when he talks in spanish, I love that shit. He’s also funnier lol. Whereas in SRTT, I liked both the british voice and of course Troy Baker’s. He’s fantastic.
