This is a great conventional scanner (non-digital). Some people say why bother because a lot of fire and police bands are P25 Phase II but a lot of areas there are analog stations that rebroadcast those P25 channels!

I bought one off of ebay earlier this morning for $38 plus shipping. Now watching your vid guys, what a funny coincidence !! I've got the BC75xlt and think knowing that one will help with navigating the 125. Supposed to arrive on Monday. Super excited!!

800-900 MHz is important. I have a Radio Shack PRO-2050 from the late '90s, non digital, and there is a ton of interesting stuff in the 800-900 MHz bands.

I have Windows 7 on my laptop & need to update to the latest Windows OS before my CD will take on my laptop. St. Paul fire, PD, state patrol and other large municipalities here; (in emergency responder) have all gone digital after 9-11-01.

I've had so many scanners in the past and I have never been able to pick up Aviation, Marine, Mlilitary or Railroads all I could ever hear were repeaters and a few over the air Fire depts.

I have the BC125AT for railfanning. What's the ideal "next step up" that would offer internal recording so we can play back a transmission we missed live? I know the SDS-100/200 are built around trunking (and beyond); how are those at analog scanning? Is there anything worthwhile in between?

i own three bc125at, each one came with a slight difference in the supplied cable. one is thicker than the other two. one very large choke. (as much mass as line 3). one only has one smaller choke. (as compared to the one below). one has two larger choke's. (as compared to the one above). any way to know when was made by the ser numbers? aka: new made. or sitting for years in a warehouse.

OK, maybe you should tell us what is Alpha Tagging.
@wtburns017 ай бұрын
Alpha tagging is just typing in the name of the channel with alpha-numeric characters. It's a way to "tag" or name the channels you program into the radio. For example, I have a local airport here, a small municipal airport outside Kansas City, New Century Airport, or KIXD. The tower frequency is 133.0000. I just alpha tagged that channel, "KIXD Tower." But you can call it whatever you want...New Century Tower, or NewCenTwr, or "Bob." Whatever you wanna ID your programmed channels with.

Would it be too much to ask if maybe, just maybe one of you could actually use it while explaining the functionality?

We can see if we can do that in upcoming show!

You said the 75. Doesn't compare to the 125. Which costs more?

lmao. I heard him say some of them are going to "usb micro" soon, and I thought, "how old is this video?" 7 months as of now! Noone should be going to usb micro in 2023. Probably means usb-c. I truly hope so. I know things like this tend to be behind the curve, but surely they're going c.
