I don't see why everyone is making a fuss about it. Then again, I'm old enough to remember the '80s, when weird guitars were commonplace. It's no more outrageous than George Lynch's skull and bones guitar(made by ESP) or Kane Roberts' machine gun guitar and certainly no more ridiculous than the Gumby and fighter jet shaped guitars that I remember seeing in a Guitar Player magazine article. I'm not a fan of MGK or this particular design, but it is nice to see a bit of whimsy come back into guitar designs.

I said this on a different video about this subject. But if Schecter made an all aluminum guitar (with possibly an aluminum neck) that has the body shape of, say their Hellraiser model, I think it would look really cool. That's just my opinion, but aluminum guitars are a very rare sight, and they have the interesting side effect of really bringing out natural harmonics, which would be really cool for a major guitar brand to try making.

Well I think Schecter has succeeded in creating the 'Edgiest' guitar possible. Looks super cheesy to me but I'm sure there's a few teens out there dressed head to toe in black that'll love it.

It's definitely too edgy for me, but it's also not offensive at all imo. I just think it's crazy to waste a signature opportunity on something so gimmicky and tacky. No one should really mind the price considering how many great alternatives there are. Plus anyone that buys it deserves the goofy tax

I shave with a razor that uses blades that look like this. I remember growing up and watching my dad shave with the "old" style razor. It shaves so much closer and it's a lot cheaper than buying replacement cartridges.

Yeah, it's outrageous, But wasn't rock built on the back of "outrageousness"? The fact that some people are outraged means that it's doing its job. I personally love that it exists. It gives me hope for the future of loud, obnoxious, fun music. I'm pretty reserved in my musical style and all of my guitars have a pretty buttoned up look, but it's not really about everything that I encounter being forced to conform with my tastes, right?

I think this is a fun new look and it’s funny how many people need to take their ibuprofen for their backs. But this is honestly a great take on a Les Paul jr. I think it rules. A block of wood with a neck bolted to it and a crunchy bridge pickup; rock and roll in its purest form. In the right hands this thing will scream.

It's a guitar from an artist. You can like it or not. You can say what it implies to you. It's a piece of art, so it's an open invitation to have your own thoughts about. MGK spoke about it onstage saying it was a nod to one of his songs called "Razorblade". Guitar players on the internet went BALISTIC & used it as an opportunity to dump on MGK. I think, as a guitar player, guitarists need to remove their head from their butt & realize that SOOO many non-musicians or just the bulk of society wont care. I think it's a cool/original guitar shape. I'm not a fan or hater of MGK, I'm also not his target demographic other than being a guitar player. He's done well for himself & I applaud that. I don't like seeing people that have done well for themselves be a target for hate when they do something that really isn't hurting or helping anyone. He created a guitar, he did not say you have to buy it, the backlash is REDONKULOUS. People might as well lose their shit over a commercial for mustard. I'd buy the guitar just to cause un-needed horror & I'd laugh my ass off.

It's actually not awful. If, you can get passed that shape which forces you to always stand while playing. Maybe some people will like the cosmetic looks so much they're willing to do that. Other than that, its a decent guitar that is some what over priced. Schecter may be a little guilty of price gauging MGK fans. But, its not a bad guitar.

Aside from shaving, razor blades are also very useful for sharpening charcoal and other kinds of pencils which are used for drawing. Maybe that's what MGK was going for?

Looks like a guitar that Glenn Tipton from Judas Priest would use to pay tribute to the British Steel album.

Personally it wouldn't be my first choice of guitar but I can see how the edginess and cheesiness of it kind of gives it a sort of appeal though. I get the roasts but I'm not so sure about people seriously hating on it. It's a bit ridiculous but that's probably the point to draw attention.

I hate the razor blade, but I prefer the more traditional guitar body shapes. I’ve never liked the Flying V and even Pointy Super Strats are already pushing it for me, but at least the more aggressive cutaways can provide better access to high frets. The razor blade doesn’t even offer that.
