Melissa finally does a Schticky review! Is Vince for real or full of Schtick? Visit bit.ly/JoinOurSpace6 for the full post.
So many people have been asking me to do this, so here it is! Official description:
In this video, cleaning expert, Melissa Maker unboxes and tests the Shticky. She runs it through a series of tests that Vince uses in the very Shticky commercials.
Does the Shticky really pick up kitty litter?
Does the Shticky really pick up spices?
Does the Shticky really pick up cereal?
Does the Shticky really pick up pennies?
Does the Shticky really pick up pot pourri?
Watch the video (and wait to the very end to see one FINAL test for the Shticky).
We also calculate the cost for you. Is it really $19.99? Is it worth the money? Did you buy one? Do you feel like it was money well spent or that you got suckered in to a gimmicky product.
TELL US!
Oh and if you are curious, I totally Shtickied my husband, and it was fabulous! We'll see about making a gag reel of outtakes and footage that didn't make it in.
Please rate/comment/subscribe :D

I believe that, even though Vince uses it for other means, this product was really meant to be a lint roller replacement. I have one and it works fine for getting animal hair off my cloths. No longer have to continuously buy lint rollers. Readding the proper care instructions helps too.

@AzNightmare
@AzNightmare 8 жыл бұрын
darksoul1381 There were probably several attempts and they had to do re-takes. Also, lot of the mess weren't cleaned up entirely. There was a scene of spilt cereal, and they just do one "roll" to stick it up a portion of it. It looks good, but after that one "roll", they don't show you that you need to go to the sink and rinse it off. They just move on to the next demonstration. Watch the commercial again. You'll notice most of the time, the mess is conveniently just the right amount so that the schticky can pick it all up in one go. But realistically, the amount of mess/lint/animal hair won't be so less, like shown in the commercial.

I still have questions about the sticky. How does it compares with the lint roller? I wouldn't use it to pick up cereal or pennies. I want to know how it is at getting pet hair or whatever off my clothing. Sometimes my lint roller doesn't seem sticky enough to get the job done and I have to use 2 or 3 layers each use. Is the Schticky stickier? or more cost effective than roller refills?

Suuuuuper late to the party but I was actually considering something like this to... well... de-fur things like my bed sheets before putting them in the laundry, because my long hair cat leaves fur all over and even if I wash my sheets after only a week (which doesn't happen often, but I did try it once to see if it would help) I end up with a ton of little fur balls (literally) in my washer and dryer. So what would you recommend instead of this to do a once-over of the sheet to get rid of the majority of the fur before I remove it from the bed to wash it? The standard "tear a sheet off" lint rollers typically are sticky enough for about one pass and then I tear off a sheet, then another pass and another sheet. I would go through one of them every one or two washings... Not something I'm interested in. Got any suggestions that would work better for this than the Schticky/Sticky Buddy/Mr. Sticky resuable lint rollers?

Thanks for the review! I wish I'd watched this before I ordered - I guess no pet owner could resist the add! I found the schticky disappointing - it requires constant washing and loses its stickiness. To its credit, I do think it works better than anything else I have tried for getting pet hair out of a textured couch (beagle hair burrows in to fabrics like porcupine quills), assuming it keeps working! Do you have any suggestions for a product that would work on stubborn pet hair in couches?

Thanks for the prompt reply. The thing is, if it actually works as a lint-roller, I wish you would have shown such. That's its main function, after all. In the sink, perhaps you could have held it at a more vertical angle to let gravity help; your water spray didn't look particularly strong. Does a certain temperature of water help perhaps? Is it any better if you instead just have a large swish-bowl (or pot) on the counter with water in it, and just submerge and swish it around or rub it?

I need to remove thrift store permanent felt marker from LEATHER & plastic shoe soles. I use De-Solvit on rubber soles - works fantastic and has never ruined the sole. I've tried other things to remove the marker, even dry erase marker - was supposed to draw it out, but didn't. The only way I've managed to "remove" the marker price on leather soles, is with sandpaper. Is there a better way? I have a pair of shoes with some kind of plastic sole that nothing has worked on.

I can't use a regular vac because of medical problems so I got a Bissell 3 in 1 vac. It is very light weight and works extremely well. I have a cat that sheds a lot and the vac picks up her fur and her litter without a problem. I use it to vacuum my small rugs. It isn't really powerful like a regular vac so it gets the rugs clean without a problem. I love it. I've tried several different things because I can't use a regular vac or a broom. Not for carpet just floors it's perfect.
@Meshatrav
@Meshatrav 10 жыл бұрын
Thanks so much for your reply. I've tried everything I can think of. I don't care about color, just getting the price off of soles and I start with a rougher sand paper causes the mark seeps into the pores of the leather and then I finish with a finer grit to make it less noticeable. Would still like a remover. :)

I have all three. I like them. I don't use them on the carpet, but I do use them on my leather couches, hardwood floors, counter tops, shutters, furniture, kitchen floor and bathroom floors. My house is pretty clean because I clean daily. So, the messes I am cleaning up are somewhat minimal compared to huge patches of dog hair, spices and coins. I do get dog hair on the couches and the floor, but I have a short-haired toy chihuahua and I mainly use the floor schticky for hair, crumbs and dust.

Also, they're nice to use because of the fact that I don't have to get the broom, which requires an extra step of sweeping stuff into a dust bin (bending over in the process). I also like the fact that debris washes away, rather than possibly going into the air from depositing it into the trash. Also, they're reusable, where similar products-- like the swiffer-- need constant purchases to use. I'm happy with my purchase.

I have the Schticky set. Paid about $35 for it. I hadn't seen the infomercial so my expectation was that it would be a non-disposable lint roller and that's pretty much how I use it - for spot cleaning hair or small crumbs from clothes or the couch. I use a bowl or bucket w/it so I don't have to run to the sink and since I didn't see the ad didn't expect the gunk to come off instantly. But it isn't a tool I use super often esp since I've upgraded my vacuum (new upright and new attachments).

I got the regular Schticky at a garage sale for a quarter. I only use it to pick up crumbs off of the counter, because I really don't like using a paper towel to do it. But, as you said, you have to wash it very often. I don't usually have trouble washing it, but I don't use it for anything other than bread crumbs or whatever on my kitchen counter. I could easily use a paper towel for everything I use the Schticky for, but it was only a quarter. And I wanted to try it. (:
