I've owned the '93, '96, '98, '06 Fireblade and currently running a '17 Blade SP1 alongside a '16 1199R '18 S1KRR and '18 R1M. The Blade is still my favorite/most seat time. Love my SP! Honda Power!!

I am a big Honda fan and love the Fireblade. The racing teams are doing so much work and the best they can do with what they are given, but to be competive Honda needs to build a stronger bike from the start. The other manufacturers are starting with 10 or even 15 horsepower more before tuning.

they all do the same hp after modifications. Its the electronics that the wsbk fireblade struggles with. Look at bsb..ewc.. or any other production series. The blade is more than capable of winning. At Suzuka this year the factory Honda team lost 1 minute due to poor strategy on track with rider gamble gone wrong and they lost by 30 seconds.

cagednm69 Here in the American series they aren't doing so well, and lets not forget the Isle of Mann and other Irish road races. Don't get me wrong, it's not a bad bike. I love the Fireblade, but to most people it's a great street bike, just not as good a starting base for a race bike as the current competition. The SP2 is a start, with it's improved cylinder head with more room for power, but only pro race teams have access to the SP2. So that leaves the SP1 for everyone else. Most club race teams dont even consider the Fireblade, which is a shame, because that leads to even less sales overall.

Manny._.Fresh the wsbk and road race versions are only resembling production sbk in bodywork.. otherwise its a different bike built from scratch almost like gp prototypes as you can see in this video. Ofcourse with poor riders you cannot expect to challenge for victory. Read Manuel Pecinos blog on Suzuka incident. HRC lost the race by poor rider swap decisions... they had 1 minute in hand but lost by 30s due to poor strategy letting Suzuka inexperienced PJ ride Suzuka in heavy downpour opposed to experienced Japanese guys. They still finished ahead of Reas Kawasaki. The French Honda team won the overall title for EWC after Suzuka

in 2016 Nicky Hayden won on the old bike and ran up in the front with the kawi & Ducati's, then in 2017 with the new bike he couldn't even see the front, it's a nice mellow street bike with some short comings for real fast trackday/club racer types, but it's no top level race platform.

But your last WSB constructors title was 1997 with the RC45 and your last rider was Toesland in 2007.

In 2017 the SP2 was supposed to be the best CBRR ever thanks to a HRC kit...that was never available. Limited edition, 8000€ more expensive than initially sold with not a single fuck from Honda for the customers. Remember that the RC213V (180 000€) was giving 159 PS unless you added 20 000€ for a non-street-legal kit. Seriously, since the RC30 and RC45 Honda is just good to make noodles delivery motorbikes.

Back in June during the Laguna Seca round I noticed on day 1 both Camier's and Gagne's bike was backfiring quite a bit. Then on day 2 backfiring on both bikes was near non-existent. Was curious as to why that is ? It was a fun weekend.

Remember this is off of production stock trim. So all lights gone, probably 15lbs, exhaust 15lbs, wheels 8 pounds, titanium hardware 5 pounds, race body work 8 lbs, etc.

I love my 04 cbr1000rr. I kill panigales on the regular. Funnest part is knowing their fairings cost $6k and my bike is worth $4k.

Sending Motogp riders in wsbk? This could be difficult for them,full of complains either..motogp bikes are made and wsbk bikes are produced..you will understand me if you had a bike wich you had bought in the market..
