И не правильно отрезаете. Нужно мерить по длине штанины, а не снизу. Иначе длинна брюк может быть разная.

This is a twin needle with a straight stitch selected. The stitch length shown is probably about 3,5 or 4. Twin needles come in special varieties for stretch and for jeans. You can find that information on the package of the needle. Try a plastic foot or a walking foot for stretch fabric, and lower the pressure foot tension to 2 or even 1. Test that setting on a scrap. Examine the stitches on the scrap: Tension just right = a dashed line - - - - on both sides of the fabrick. Tension too high = The top side looks like a straight line, lower the tension. Tension too low = The bottom side looks like a straight line (or even loops), heighten the tension. I don’t know if the person in the clip used stretch thread. This trick mimicks the overlock stitch, but you need to be very precise with your measurements. Press the folded edge to make it keep its shape better. If pinning the fabric does not keep it in place (for very slippery fabric), baste the fabric before sewing. To make this stitch work you need to put the edge (on the underside, which you don’t see) between the twin needles. To help with that she puts the refrigerator magnet as a guide for the folded edge. So if you have folded over 1 inch or 2 cm or whatever length you want your hem to be, then the distance between the middle of the two needles and the edge of the refrigerator magnet should be the length of fabric that you folded over.

1 штанины выравнивают сверху, фиксируют длину, только затем отмечают желаемую. 2 портновские булавки, при пошиве на прямострочке закалывают поперёк строчки, пои пошиве на оверлоке вдоль. 3 на машинке есть расчерченная линейка , поэтому не надо придумывать велосипед. Ролик неинформативен, а скорее даже вреден.
