Jeopardy! Season 38 got off to an AWESOME start, we started out with Matt and then Jonathan defeated him and became the eleventh winningest player in Jeopardy! history, that's AWESOME!

Back to back ultrachampions for the first time in 19 years. All I can say is wow. (And yes, I know Jeopardy has been on the air for 38 years. However, champions could only go on 5-game streaks for half of that.)

Who cares! I like to see good, competitive games. I don't need long-running champions to enjoy the games. It's nice when they appear, but definitely not needed. People seem to forget that everybody wants to win, not just them.

That won't happen, as he lost in his 12th appearance, but he's a great player and we'll see him in the TOC. Grammar Butcher Matt will be the heavy or perhaps even prohibitive favorite but one never knows. Just the wrong combo of topics or players that offset one another can produce an upset. I favor people who use proper English grammar. There's a difference between a hiccup and those who deliberately fracture the language as a matter of course.

I don't know, but he observes far better English grammar than Amodio did. He actually asks questions that fit the clue rather than butcher many of them as Amodio deliberately did. Just because there's no rule against it doesn't mean it is appropriate. I'm sure that Jeopardy never imagined their champions being so grammatically ignorant that they consistently cannot formulate a grammatically correct question.

He should have been proud of anyone interested enough to be on the show period and smart enough to pass their preliminary tests. It takes some chops to put yourself out there before millions of people and risk having a humiliatingly bad game. Sometimes Trebek was too hard on contestants who were obviously trying in a game (I'm talking about when all three were messing up, not just one) and that was one of his major flaws, even though overall he was an exceptional host. They were trying, and that's all he should have cared about. Those kinds of games were few and very far between. He should have just grinned and borne it.
