something i discovered the last time i played its that the cutscene where ganondorf absorbs all of his phantom ganons to explode and damage all sages at once, it changes a little bit if you defeat all phantom ganons, with ganondorf just doing the explosion thing

First time I fought Ganondorf I completely skipped the entire 5th sage storyline (which is a huge chunk of the game), and the whole time I’m thinking “man this is going to be a crazy mid-game twist.” And the deeper I got I kept feeling unsure of this “mid game”aspect. I fought the beginning parts and when I saw ganondorf I was like “hell yeah, were going to have a battle like phantom ganon or something and then the next part of the game will open up.” I struggled a lot with the added boss and no master sword, but eventually beat the game and felt so disappointed. It was super exciting going through that area early, made it way harder and scarier, but the sadness of accidentally playing the game out of order and then experiencing a lot of the story after being spoiled with the ending overwhelmed that and it sucked. Definitely wish I played the game as intended the first time.

You say as intended but they literally intend for people to be able to do stuff like that, they have almost no care for how little or how much story you see and find, you could finish either game as soon as you want, granted in the case of this game I gotta wonder why you wouldn't have seen the one quest that mentions a 5th sage and what not or why the objective you went to was just "defeat ganondorf" and you thought it was lying or something lol I do think its messed up there is no order to have to experience it in but still lol

@@SSlash it’s the intended path even if they leave it up to the player and other ways work. That flexibility is great but there’s always a “right” way to play the game (if you can call it that). As for why I wandered off that way, it’s because it was at the point you were supposed to climb UP into Hyrule castle to find Zelda which is just phantom ganon, but I ended up going down instead when I didn’t immediately find a path. I knew up was likely the right way but didn’t really think much about it (partially because I had been playing almost nonstop for days lol).

@@SSlash It doesn't even give you the defeat Ganon quest till you have the 5th sage I thought? Id also say that this game tries to keep you going in order of story first with its quests. Whether or not people do the follow the quests or go straight to doing what they want is up to them and on them.

Totk was my single biggest gaming moment in my life. I purchased a switch in middle of december solely for this game and within a month i had put over 400 hours into it. Truly my favorite game I have ever played.

That's not the secret. The secret is the post credit cutscene when you've seen all 18 memories Edit: People keep replying that BOTW only has 18. Open up TOTK and go to memories and scroll all the way down and look at the number. Every memory on there is a memory. Just because some of the memories aren't ones you have to find but they're story related, doesn't mean that it doesn't count.

No, he's saying the cutscene after the Demon King's Army Horde Battle is different if you skip the Crisis at Hyrule Castle quest and instead skip to getting Mineru. You can see in the video a series of shots of the Sages facing the bosses from their temples, those shots aren't from the cutscene that plays if you did the entire MSQ.

Yes, so, if you beat every dungeon and hyrule castle then you get the scene where they all charge, if you skipped even one dungeon, the boss for that dungeon appears at the end of the horde and you now have to fight it, but any boss you did defeat gets a mini cutscene where the respective sage faces off. so for you, you still had to fight the 5 phantom ganons.

Not exactly. The Phantom Ganon fight can be skipped if you beat it in Hyrule Castle, leaving you with normal Ganon.

On my first time fighting ganon I had the first 4 sages and then after that I went back on the save and somehow managed to find the fifth safe completely by accident because I saw the hurricane in the sky and decided to investigate it and found the fifth sage

When I beat tears I missed the fifth sage and during my Gannon fight I had to fight the giant robot. Had no idea where it came from or what it was. Definitely a difficult fight it under prepared

My sister after beating all 4 dungeons didn’t go to the castle for the next story quest and fight the fake Zelda she flew up to the end of thunderhead isles skipping the entire bit to clear the fog and fight fake Zelda I didn’t even know it was possible to get up there without clearing it and she didn’t even know she skipped anything until i saw her and said “Oh your doing the story now” and she just said “What?”

Oh yes, it is definitely possible to get up there. On my first playthrough of the game, I was curious as to what was up there, figuring that if I completed what was up there, the fog would clear. It didn't, but it was still fun to do, and thus, I got the hidden sage second. If you want to get up there early, the easiest way I found was with a balloon. There are a few handy boards on the plateau nearest to the "head" portion of Dragon Head Island. Simply rise up with one, using charges to refill if necessary, then use Ascend once you get close enough.
