I see sharing economy of shifting the burden of safety nets (retirement matching, health insurance, life insurance, paid vacation days, etc..) to the "employee" (contractor to be more precise). There's also lack of stability and therefore unpredictable income which does not offer a consistent livable wage. This is really meant to be a part-time option to get some extra cash IMO. I could be wrong - so would welcome counterpoint opinions...

Sounds like just another way of expropriating the stuff I've worked hard for to distribute to people who the author feels "need" it.

Only if you chose to share out of a sense of duty or obligation, rather than empathy, as well as counting sharing as a loss in a zero-sum game. What if it could be a gain for you as well as meeting others needs?

What if others also share with you also? Have you ever been in a situation where things would have gone much smoother or better if you only had access to additional resources or personal connections?

First she's talking about "sharing", then she starts yammering about welfare for the poor.

Another model that involves money. "Sharing economy" can be another exploitative economy Many have to work several jobs in this economy to make enough to survive. Not relying on your tax money, money from government funded charity organization and money donation from people is the real sustainable movement: unlike some of these models under "sharing economy" that rent something in exchange for your money is just another profitable form of capitalism in disguise. Do some research on who they took from to start their company.

There is nothing wrong with the sharing economy. There is something wrong with the lack of regulations regarding the sharing economy. The same thing that happened in the industrial revolution. There are always those trying to take advantage of other people. Then there are regulations put in place. It does not make the idea a bad thing. It makes jumping on the next bandwagon a thing you might want to think twice about trying.

the point of the "Sharing economy" is not to replace capitalism and to outlaw a profit driven society. The goal of a sharing economy is to use idle resources that would normally go to waste by establishing a "Peer to Peer" connection without the use of the traditional "Business to Peer" system and with that reducing marginal costs up until the point where they become free. The main challenges are taxation and regulation; main opportunities are the innovative power and enhanced competition.

No wonder this video has only 15K view after seven years, because it is full of BS. I wasted my time on it.
