What if got a ccj by water company and never knew about it ? Because they only addressed my partner ???

Hi Mr Planit! not knowing about a CCJ may not be good enough, especially if it's proven in court that you are the person who owes money. However, it's best to respond to it as soon as possible and state that you were unaware of the debt. I've got CCJ based on fraud. Person paying bills decided to open an account using my name to avoid paying, resulting with water company application for debt created by someone who stolen personal details. I find it dishonourable how those companies ignore the evidence provided and demand for money.

@MoneyNerd thank you, I definitely have a look. The fact that for the whole claim name is being misspelt, it's not relevant to me as it doesn't match my name. However there's some harassment happening that makes the case complicated for me because of the fraudulent nature where the name isn't correct on their paperwork. I feel that there's a different approach needed. I did report the fraud and am still waiting for a response. Anyway, I appreciate your response. Kindly.
