@@traviscooper2205 the reversed trailer music notes are the same notes as the 10,000 years ago prophecy music. This ties the sequel somehow to the events of the past through association. People assume time travel will be present because it is a very common occurrence in the series.

@@drnarwhal2888 i think a Twitter leaker leaked that one, and he/she has gotten some things correct in the past. It was leaked in a list of games, but there has been no way to verify if it's real. Though it could make sense now.

Makes sense, in an IGN interview with aonuma, aonuma said that the title for the sequel reveals a lot about what’s gonna happen in the game, so it could be a possibility

This was already done in OOT and MM, where you play the song of time backwards to reverse the clock 3 days. I've also heard rumors that you play as 2 different links, one from the past and from the future. Perhaps they took a bit of inspiration from OOT for this game?

@@chrispysaid Through the process of making the first botw, we see concept art of Link being infused with malice, using it to his advantage, which is what we see in the trailer. I think that his arm was corrupted by malice in the beginning of the game, and maybe he came across people like the shieka or the zonai to help him stop it from spreading, and that lead him to be able to do things with his arm instead of the slate. I don't think it is shieka tech though because through the trailer you see many zonai looking structures, and on Link's arm, there are patterns that look similar to the style of zonai patterns. Just a theory though.

I don't think time travel would be a case here as some have said, but I think it was something similar to oot Link, where he was kept in the Sacred Realm as time passed for him and Hyrule. Maybe in the game, Link was sealed, and he then came out at a later time, but not too long after botw1. This could explain the longer hair and how the islands came out of nowhere. Maybe Ganon did something with the sky or the land while Link was sealed which could answer what his actions were when he raised and stood up in the trailer.

What if time didn't travel in linear fashion as a whole and instead, only some parts of hyrule have changed due to a time distortion. That could explain how some parts of hyrule are exactly the same with zero changes (like Castle Town) and other parts of hyrule are entirely different. It could also explain how link has changed so suddenly in clothing and hair style. He's the same link, with the same memories, but time distortion has changed him even though not much time has passed overall. As to what is causing this, maybe the malice, maybe the other force seen in the trailer, since link is able to use that force to distort time himself, as seen when he's reversing the spiky balls and causing time to temporarily reverse in that small spot.

Link also has long hair in AoC and BotW. It’s just tied up. Wearing the Ancient Helmet and Divine Beast Helmets shows his hair’s actual length more clearly

@@SourceOfTheRightArm Yes, but there are more similarities than just that. This new look of link also has green clothes and exposed legs much like the hero in the tapestry. Any one of those 3 details I'd describe as a coincidence, but having all 3 of them seems pretty deliberate. It also seems pretty deliberate that this "new" link is shown in the sky islands exclusively, while link's BotW design is exclusively shown on the ground. Furthermore, this is probably a coincidence, but I find it slightly interesting that the only time link has his hair down in BotW, it's tied to the "ancient" armor specifically.

Because even in botw2 he has the tied hair, and he has his champion tunic and is on the earth. Instead in all the scenes with "long hair" he is dressed differently and he is always on the sky. The two Links seems like are different persons.

They definitely aren’t different Links. That would just be an awful decision on design choices alone. Nobody wants to play 2 different links. They probably just wanted to show Link in familiar garb in the hyrule we’re familiar with. And then a Link in new clothing where there’s new stuff. It’s not some huge scheme.

Nintendo said whatever the title is, that it would "clue" people in on the plot. Also, it's the 10,000 years ago track, not 100. 100 years ago, Link died, 10,000 years ago is the tapestry story Impa tells Link. Those are different stories. 😊

They could just be obscured by the Sky Barrier like in Skyward Sword. Also it could just be technical reason, like the islands would lag the game too much. Those are just some apposing theory's but overall I agree with you. The fact that Links clothes change from the ones in BOTW 1 when he's on the ground and then he looks like the link in the tapestry when he's in the skys is a pretty big tell for me.

I believe this to be the case, but not entirely true. We will get to experience both. The sky islands don't exist in botw hyrule so the parts of the trailer that took place on them was ancient link, at that part link had long hair like in the tapestry as well as the ability to use magic and a different looking paraglider. The parts that took place on main Hyrule are the parts where link had the botw hairstyle meaning those parts you play as botw link. Maybe learning what really happened 10,000 years ago is the key to being able to save Zelda current day? Maybe because modern day link has the green hand now he learns that link from 10,000 years ago also had the green hand?

Oh yeah, someone from Nintendo also said that the title was not revealed because it would give to much away so maybe the title could be along the lines of: The legend of Zelda: The ancient world

@@MemesToa Exactly. "Retrograde" is the musical term for it. And just like in the Ballad of the Goddess, this music is written backwards and performed forwards, if that makes sense. You can tell because the "backwards" sound persists when you reverse it, like they took an instrument/sample and spliced the decay part onto both ends. It's a pretty awesome effect, and the fact that reversing it doesn't actually change the sound just messes with your head. lol I love it.

Its possible the usage you're used to is different; music is weird. (Source: musictheory.pugetsound.edu/mt21c/TwelveToneTechnique.html , refers to 12-tone music, but the terms were also used in that way historically, as well) Regardless, do you also hear the audio as reversed both ways? I'm not sure specifically how to create that effect... maybe there's a filter or a sample library? It just seems like recording it, reversing it, and then editing it to sound reversed when played backwards seems... too many steps.
