Been doing 6 on top, 3 on bottom, and then tap tuning for a long time now before every show thanks to you and Clayton. Haven’t done it any other way!

Thank you so much josh! Yesterday i was just watching your drum tech talk about the torque key and how he tunes your kit. Im verry happy that you went more in depth on this. I really appreciate it! Thanks!

I got one a little after seeing your Cayem Interviews video, and seeing your drum tech reccomend it. It's helped so much, I'm terrible at tuning

I’d always been partial to the HD Dry, but I’ve found lately it works better on metal snares than wood. But I just tried the Genera Dry on my tama wood backbeat snare. That’s the new favorite head.

I am happy with my evans key maybe he is not perfect for snare drums but for toms are great!
@philippalmiter625 жыл бұрын
Does that torque key work on toms as well?
@adzo41drums925 жыл бұрын
Dude...I fucking love that head. I’ve used to for years! I might have missed it...but which head do you use on the bottom? I like a thicker clear head. It helps soak up those gross overtones without having to use moongels and things. So now looking at your Evans profile...I use the exact same batter heads for everything! Lol best combo ever!

Hi Josh, if you don't mind me asking, what snare wire are you using?
@paulracinejr5 жыл бұрын
Hey man great video! Roughly what do you set your bottom head to on the torque key?
@JoshManuel5 жыл бұрын
Thanks man, roughly I'd say if I have my top head set to 5 I'd set my bottom to 6 or 4 depending on the room

Hey Josh, that snare sound tooo good to be true! Is it really the Genera Dry (which is only 1 ply) or the Genera HD Dry (which is 2 play) ? Would love to know that :) ! Cheers
@JoshManuel5 жыл бұрын
Lucas Bruckschlegel it’s the Genera Dry, not HD
@EnterAnders5 жыл бұрын
@@JoshManuel Do you find that you break 'em often, or that there are too many overtones? Never played on a single-ply snare batter

Anyone know what he’s doing on his real head? Curious how tight and what head he’s using.

Josh! I've got your signature snare, Evans torque key is so important to have best tuning?
@JoshManuel5 жыл бұрын
Pit Malfa Drums Nice! Thanks for picking one up. I don’t know if it’s important to having the “best” tuning but for me it really helps keeping my snare tone consistent. I highly recommend getting one.

When you say 1 notch, does that mean 1 full turn past the 0 and then to 6?
@JoshManuel5 жыл бұрын
Edward Sims Yep! Exactly
@alpareja31445 жыл бұрын
I'm gonna guess yes, my torque-key wont really tighten the heads enough until you pass the 0 in a full turn first. After that turn, go to 5-6 and then tap tune from there. Hope this helps.
