We're at it with another Genie+ challenge, and this time things are getting...wild. (We apologize for the animal pun, it won't happen again.) Molly is headed to Disney's Animal Kingdom to show you how to master the Disney Genie in this park and answer the big question - is Genie worth the $$$ in Animal Kingdom?! A Challenge I think would be SUPER helpful to viewers and also hilarious! LARP a family of 4 from out of town on a BUSY day. How would Mom Molly navigate the day with a preschooler, a preteen and a partner who HATES lines! Her Challenge is to make sure everyone including herself has a magical day and everybody gives ratings of some sort. Quincy as an eye rolling preteen and Breedlove throwing tantrums would make my day!

Still would love to see a scavenger hunt style video where the participants can only use the Genie's suggestions. Would also be a fun way to see how the Genie's suggestions vary per person.

You are correct Molly, there used to be a sealed place to put things on the rapids river ride seats, and you are correct that the original destruction of the forest scene and messaging has been altered and downplayed, just like the dead elephant scene that was deleted at the ind of the safari attraction.

Same, largely because I have the same complaints about that ride, too short way too wet. Even the one at California adventure is marginally longer ... Hate being wet.

I’ve seen a ton of videos on using Genie+ or on just letting the Genie plan your day. What I would LOVE to see is how much you can accomplish using Genie+ and filling in during the down time or in-between times riding other rides, going to shows, whether using stand by or the rides that aren’t part of genie+ etc…

This is very close to her perfect day series. She uses genie+ for the rides she needs to and then fills in with the ones that don’t need it.

Why would they take out the dry storage on Kali river rapids? I remember that as well. Maybe people kept leaving their stuff there and it became too much of a hassle.

Really don't think it's possible because of the 120 minute wait between them. Yes you can look for fastpasses available right away and redeem more that way but sometimes you need to pick ones further out because they book up so fast for the day. Because of the walking end the genie+ restrictions, I don't think it's doable

Could you please do this experiment again between Christmas and New Years? I’m not surprised that it’s not necessary on a low crowd day, but I’d think it would be imperative to buy Genie+ during high crowd times. Like, in the before times, you wouldn’t have gone to a park during a peak crowd time without FastPasses, right?

The editing/music of the Kali section was pure genius. *chef's kiss* I got Bruno when I was at the art class last time! Wish I could find that one, I think it got thrown out when I moved. I would love to get one of the Disney dogs. (I think Rafiki's Planet Watch is a "must-do" for families with little kids especially ... kids can run off any energy they have from being cooped up in strollers and they also usually love the petting zoo, plus the drawing class is a chance for a fun, different kind of souvenir!)

Love your videos they have been super helpful in planning our first family Disney trip. It is my understanding that you can get a new Genie + two ways: 1) when you tab into an attraction 2) every 120 minutes. People are able to stack Genie + reservations. I wish someone would do a video using this method.

I remember it’s tough to be a bug… I remember seeing the show when I was 7. The biggest thing I remember was when the bugs moved under your seats and made you jump up!

Thanks so much Molly for all your tips! Just was there with. Fam of 5. Still would follow ur old advice and hit the safari first. Id say don't need genie plus for AK we rode flight 3 times Everest 3 times Dino 3 times and also did the animation and safari twice! Keep up all the great work!

I was just at WDW and the Genie app would have Walt up in arms. Everyone in the park is wandering around glued to their devices and NOT LOOKING around at the wonders of their surroundings - it's almost comical - Wall -E coming to life.

Hilarious at the River Rapids… you are so funny! I got soaked at that ride my first time and I didn’t know that was a possibility so I walked the park the with wet jeans. But I got them dry waiting for Everest as I went to the park the second week after it opened.

I don't remember a Tiger on Kali River. But they used to have a lot more fire and smoke in the logging scene. They also turned off the guiser at the top of the lift hill.

I 100% agree that Dinosaur is better than flight of passage. I’ll be honest, I was a bit disappointed at FOP. It’s all built up as the best ride in the park and one of the best in WDW and it was just ok. But I’m with Molly, I will always prefer a physical ride to a simulator. Also, Festival of the Lion King is 10000% the best thing in WDW!

I’m going on April and I’m trying to decide which park for a one day trip and if genie plus is worth getting and paying for “fancy rides”. This was very helpful. Animal kingdom is my favorite.

I am with you on enjoying Dinosaur more that FOP because of the physical sets, but it is a rough ride. FOP is fun, but I wish it and some of the simulator rides including more ride car movement like The Spiderman ride at Island of Adventure where it is a combo of screens and sets.

I’ve never seen the full queue for FOP or several other big rides like 7DMT. My son has the DAS and there is no way he’ll last through those lines the way they are. We utilize his DAS if we’re riding those rides. Before that, we used fast pass to get on them. My husband and I will be going in February for the first time without the kids, so we won’t have the DAS, but our focus on this trip is not on riding rides. 😊

I don't remember if there was a thing for your bags there but there are free lockers just outside kali you could have put your bag in and just kept your phone/camera for filming without your bag getting wet.

Tips with Genie Plus! (per Molly in the video) 1) Start with Navi River 2) book at 7 am for resort guest, park open for non resort guest 3) give yourself time to get to your Animation Experience class😉 4) refresh page if no mobile order dining windows show up

Simulated rides are terrible for me. Animatronics, slow boats, extreme theming, shows and dark rides are the best! No more screen-based simulation.

I was at AK on 11/6 and found that you cannot cancel lightning lanes from the app. Had one booked for the Animation Experience but the train went down and we could not get there for our time slot. Guest Experience Cast Member had to cancel it so that I could book something else, and confirmed that they had taken away the ability while Disney ‘figures the system out’

Tips without Genie! (per Molly in the video) 1) ride Navi River in morning or afternoon 2) Flight of Passage can be short wait in afternoon or at night 3) rope drop safaris 4) get in line for Animation Experiece early! spots fill up! 5) refresh page if no mobile order windows show up 6) arrive 15-30 minutes before FOTLK depending on the crowds

Moving to our new home in Vero Beach in March. Wife and I have not been to the parks since 2004 but used to take our kids every year between 1994 and 2004. Much has changed. I used to know everything about the parks now I feel lost. When I use the Genie+ app to book rides or fancy rides are those bookings I make on my phone for both my wife and I or does she have to book her own times to match up with mine? That is the only confusing part for me. Love your energy.

Unless you're going during the holidays I would say no. Honestly, if you plan well I think the Only time you need Genie ➕ for Any of the Parks is during peak/holiday time. The only Fancy Ride TM I can see Ever paying for is ROTR. But we stay on property and Always rope drop. At MK we either start with Peter Pan or Jungle Cruise, Hollywood Studios we go to Slinky Dog or ROTR, EPCOT we go to Frozen or Soarin first and AK we start with FOP or Safari. We Always do a sit down meal everyday, are able to ride "all the must do's " as well as the "filler attractions ", see the shows and have some shopping time. Keep in mind we Do Not Park Hop-that is a Huge time sucker. But we've never had trouble doing everything with the exception of going there on Christmas Day or the week after(which is actually their busiest time). And even then we did most of the things we wanted to do. Have a Plan in place. Know where you're going(don't be one of those families huddled around a trash can arguing about what to do next), and then where you're going after you get off an attraction. We've been going to WDW for over 4 decades, and we've used Touring Plans for years. (Much Better Tool than genie as it takes into account what you want to do and Not what the Genie tool wants you to do-which is spend more money and spread out in the park).

Kali is definitely disappointing. I went on for the first time in a LONG time last year and was shocked at how short it is. Also, it was SUPER hot so I actually wanted to get wet and I didn't lol. I do remember there being a storage area for the bags! I was also confused about where to put my stuff when I got on.

I also do not like to get wet and there did use to be a compartment in the middle where you could store your bags. Please tell me what brand your lip color is. When you were eating your chicken sandwich, the color was still there! 👌

Disney sure knows how to make money… paying for the ticket, paying for less wait times (that Disney could avoid by offering more), paying again for less wait times, but this time for the popular rides (and each one extra). Wow.
