Really like the lines idea. A nice visual way to make sure the paper is coming out straight.

I feel like the actual best and easiest way to level your printer is to loosen the bolts, put a paper on the screen push it all the way down until you can’t move the paper then put your hand on plate and tighten them down. Your build plate will be level as it’s flush with the screen. Then you just raise the plate until the paper can move. I’ve never had issues with leveling with this method, it’s quick easy and removes any room for error.

I like how explained how you make sure that it is very tight. Same as what I am doing here with the added explanation to watch your corners because they can fool you on thinking you are level

@@FacilityD20 I tried his method and one corner was not leveled. I made the first print (anycubic the exposure print) and 2 got stuck in the vat. It was a mess to clean. Now level again. I'll try with the lines.

Whole lotta work that. How about this, install your vat. Loosen the print bed, home it while loose. Once it’s stops and is in the vat, hold down on it and tighten like normal. I’ve had flawless printing for over year now , happened while I threw the paper bs away.

I never had a lot of luck with that method personally. The lines on the paper are to illustrate visual for the video, how if the paper does not pull perfectly out, you are not actually level. Once you understand it, you don't need the lines and it is very fast and simple. I found other videos were good at showing you how to level with the paper, but not what to look for when doing it.

Is that just regular printer paper? Roughly how far are the lines?
@FacilityD20
@FacilityD20 Жыл бұрын
Yes regular. I used 1/4 inch. This was to give a visual representation to see if the paper was pulling out unevenly.

Except you show a sheet of 80gsm paper which is thinner than the setting sheet - and thinner than the FEP. It's going to give a thin first slice and cause deflection.
@FacilityD20
@FacilityD20 7 ай бұрын
That does not make a difference at all.
@lockmakeryorkscavr
@lockmakeryorkscavr 7 ай бұрын
@@FacilityD20 of course it makes a difference! If the FEP is 0.15 thick, your setting paper is 0.10 and the layer height 0.05, on the first slice the printer will try make a zero thickness slice on the full plate area. That's not good for the printer or the print.

@lockmakeryorkscavr867 Personally, i disagree, you are better off with a tight grip on that paper. It will be more consistent to make that first few layers stick. Less fails.
