So the reason nothing is "recorded" is essentially TOR runs in memory (in the same manner as an in-private, incognito mode).... All of the information is written to temp files in memory, that get purged when you close the browser/kill the process. If you were to do a memory dump/live analysis (and parse with commercial forensic software) with TOR running, you will find stuff. Also even with in-private browsing, if you were to say zoom in a webpage, that information will persist, not sure off the top of my head if that applies to TOR.

I like your content but recently it seems like it’s been entire videos of paid content. Not that the products are bad per se but there’s something that feels disingenuous about it especially when almost the whole video is about some product(s)

Flare is a really good product and if you’re a professional in the field it is worth the paywall. However, that has nothing to do with the overall theme of this video and everything that flare is used for can be done without with more effort. Don’t think it’s “disingenuous” to share a tool that very understandably isn’t free?

Hey John, TOR service can also be used as a proxy to route browser traffic. I tried for a while but Edge and Chrome keep complaining about the proxy service 🙂

In the Windows case: could you put one of the file system monitor things (e.g., from SysInternals) to look at what Tor writes to? (Of course, that presupposes one can explore the relevant aspects that would force the writes).

Thanks for this. One question: Does Firefox set to "No History" do (or don't do) the same thing as TOR? Meaning, if I'm not seeing History in the History tab, then there's no database hidden in the background? Running Firefox 123.0.1

lifelock they do dark web monitoring thats pretty good as for normal web monitoring i cant say its forever changing but hope this helps a bit
