2 days ago I watched this video and then yesterday, for the first time after tryna learn this trick for 7 YEARS, I landed my first one. Explaining that you need to distribute your weight evenly on both feet is all I was missing, I was putting too much weight on my back foot with the scoop and that was all I needed, I don’t think other tre videos go into enough detail about weight distribution. Good shot bro 💯💯

Most guides usually tell me to hang my toes over the board so I can exaggerate the motion of scooping the board, you’re the first guide that I’ve ever seen say the opposite, I’ll see have to try it out and see if I can better results
@markschwartz7725 Жыл бұрын
It’s possible that I don’t believe it needs to be exaggerated like that because over time I’ve built up the ankle strength needed to snap the board around quickly. If you’re having a hard time getting the board to spin around either put your feet closer together or practice with a smaller board 🤷🏻♂️ we all have different strengths and weaknesses it’s up to you

does concave depth matter on 360flips i would imagine it would be slightly harder with a low concave🤔
@markschwartz7725 Жыл бұрын
It depends what you want. I would say a low concave will help you spin the board around and a higher concave will give you a higher 360 flip but slower rotation. If you want it to be really easy get a tiny board and try it.

@markschwartz772510 ай бұрын
Not sure I would have to watch you do it. I’m gonna have to say too much spin and you’re leaning back too much stay hovered over your front foot. Do like 10 going fakie and then try one regular.

@markschwartz772511 күн бұрын
You may be kicking it too far forward or every time you pop you’re immediately putting your back foot down and you’re getting use to that motion. Not sure what I can tell you to try. Maybe stay above your board and centered more or lean forward and focus on jumping and landing on the front foot.

I keep opening my front shoulder up after i pop and it makes my front foot fall to the side of the board instead of catching it. Any advice? Ive tried everything.

You’ll have to start the trick with your shoulders in a different position. Maybe start with your shoulder already in an open position and then jump to a closed . Not sure I’d have to watch you 🤷🏻

Will try these tips! But, no mention of the backfoot? Isn’t this trick 90% backfoot action?
@markschwartz77252 жыл бұрын
Absolutely. After I edited the video I noticed I forgot to say something about that. The only advise I could give is practice 360 shovs and build the muscle in your back ankle. I know when I do the trick I’m hardly even thinking about my back foot theirs a certain flick to spin ratio you gotta program in your mind

The entire premise of this video that the difficulty of learning/performing a 360 flip or any other trick is simply knowing what exact point on the board to put your feet or what exact point on the board you think you're popping or flicking off of is totally wrong for a multitude of reasons. First off, it's entirely possible to perform almost any trick from within a huge RANGE of foot positions. 2ndly, the spots you're pointing out to us claiming that is exactly where you put your foot or pop for certain tricks ISN'T EVEN THE EXACT SPOT YOU ACTUALLY USE WHEN YOU DO IT. Adjusting where you put your foot on the board is literally the FIRST most BASIC thing anyone who isn't completely braindead knows is something they can do when trying to learn a new trick. The difficulty of learning tricks is in the actual PERFORMANCE of the actual MOTION necessary to simultaneously JUMP, have the board perform the trick, and then LAND back on the board, at the right time. No amount of foot position adjusting is ever going to teach someone to properly PERFORM the MOTIONS necessary to do a trick
@markschwartz77254 ай бұрын
Yeah sure then why did Andy Anderson design his board the way he did?
@markschwartz77254 ай бұрын
I agree you can literally put your feet anywhere to do a trick there’s no right or wrong way to skate I’m giving people a general basic starting position. Those points on the board are where you are most balanced it’s anywhere along the bolt lines. If you step out of the bolt lines your trucks flex and then your board turns down causes an imbalance and an improper pop. It depends on so many things. Your body type your balance your leg strength I don’t know what you’re arguing against? Take what I say and try it and if it doesn’t work then fuck it don’t try it lol. I literally didn’t even try when I made this video or put any thought into it I wung it and it got views. Try maurio mccoys 360 flip video that’s a good one
@justinmusicandskateboardin92824 ай бұрын
I just like to make points I feel like never get said. I don't think this a bad tutorial video, I'm sure this was very helpful to plenty of people, perhaps even including myself somewhat. I am mostly thinking from my own perspective though too, I have such a weird relationship to 360 flips. It's like, I KNOW exactly what I'm doing wrong, but making myself actually DO THAT is what's so difficult@@markschwartz7725
