Judith Durham & the Boys at their best! Singing 'Nobody Knows The Trouble I've Seen', 'Someday, One Day' & 'Open Up Them Pearly Gates' in a test colour broadcast for ITV of the weekly Palladium show. I've upmixed the mono audio to stereo and corrected the colour on the video as far as possible.
A DVD, 'The legendary TV Specials' (featuring all The Seekers' big hits and much more) is available to buy online and spent 6 months in the Australian music DVD chart, much of the time at #1! More videos from Judith and The Seekers on the playlists below:

In my opinion also, Karen Carpenter, Celine Dion, Barbara Streisand, Whitney Houston, among many others I am sure if I could think of them!😆

@@lpeek56, sorry, but in my mind there are only two singers of that era that compare with JD, Mary Hopkin for sheer purity of sound, and Joan Baez for overall performance. Karen Carpenter-nice voice, but little passion. Celine Dion-shouter. Barbara Strident- nasal, and Whitney Houston-great in the lower registers, but resorted to screaming when hitting the high notes. JD was able to avoid all these pitfalls, as was Mary Hopkin.

So sad to hear of Judith's passing. I am 37 so this was long before I was born, I remember inheriting a heap or records from my parents in the 90s and passing over The Seekers albums thinking folk music was uncool at the time. I recently rediscovered them and am blown away by how amazing their music is, it's incredible how good they sounded, even recently - especially given Judith had lung disease. To me this video encapsulates a lot about the 60s, even though I wasn't around to experience it I long for what seems like a much simpler time.
