See this is why if xG is a dumb stat because he's one of the main reason Inter made the big leap this year especially lautaro.. His link up play is a perfect fit he could score more goals(only weakness) but Lautaro aint scoring this much without him. Watch the games not the stats. The problem is not that Inter and Martinez are underrated (and yes, they are), the problrem is that in the last decade it was all about the premier league, bayern munich and a couple of spanish giants.. All the rest was just ignored. People now are almost shocked to see that other teams are actually capable of playing good football and this is kinda sad. I mean, Girona, Inter, Leverkusen, Borussia, RB Leipzig, Brest, Lille, Porto are all very good teams too often underrated just because they don't build up teams with famous names. And usually those are the teams where future top players of europe come from. Teams like Inter are capable of playing good football each year even after selling every season 2-3 top players like Ajax did in the 90's. These's more than one way to build up a strong team. Money is deffo one, but creativity and intelligence sometimes pays back more...

I mean people have short memories. In 2010s a lot of people underestimated epl teams for example since they were for some time pretty poor in ucl. Now is the same thing with inter and some other teams. Its natural. Juve wasnt underrated for example during that period.

Then oligarchs and oil money flooded the premier league and obviously half a dozen of barely known teams (like city) suddenly became serious contenders with a blink of an eye.

Thuram is the reason they have taken the leap this year(he's also boosting Lautaro being a perfect fit beside him). He makes Inter a great team giving them the pace and dribbling they were lacking last year. His 1st touch this year has been money everytime. Can take multiple defenders on in space. They got him for free lol

Last season they got to the final of the champions league and that was without him lmao. He is great dont get me wrong, and he adds a lot to inter but to say hes the reason why for inters “leap”, im sorry but thats just wrong. Inters midfield is one of the best in the world, and their defense is insane because they are involved in the attack so much yet hardly get scored on. Last season Napoli were just in crazy form and there was no stopping them

@@pamelasnell7047 the leap, as he correctly said, was done by acquiring Pavard, Thuram, Sommer to replace those who were leaving (Dzeko, Skriniar, Onana). These guys were just perfect for Inter cause they all have good touch and Inter tactics are based on frequent passes. Pavard has better feet compared to Skriniar and Thuram has the speed and 1vs1 Dzeko was lacking to play this style at its best. Plus he has developed a special connection with Lautaro, Barella and Dimarco, something that you can feel also by looking at them playing on the pitch. The team is way stronger this year also on the bench, we replaced old players like D'ambrosio with a young talent like Bisseck, useless players like Gagliardini with an energetic, restless midfielder like Frattesi, we replaced Gosens with Buchanan and Carlos Augusto.. I mean, the overall quality went definitely up, the average age lowered, plus the overall wages were highly reduced and we also had a + sing on the club balance at the end of the market window. All this helped to raise confidence and help them focus on the target of this season: win serie A and stitch the second star on the shirt.

Also I think some of you guys don't understand how big inter is. Look at their trophies... we are getting the second star this year. We have more domestic titles than ac, with all due respect to milans 7 ucl's, it has been soooo long ago they actually did anything in Europe... everybody always talking about lautaro's world cup's performance. but actually he was injured before worldcup. they should not even call him!! but they call him anyway, because he was their top scorrer in WC qualifiying round. it's insane that they force him to play while suffering from his injured, and just benched him later on WC. after the worldcup, he continue to play for inter, and delay his surgery, because inter really need him. he only get his surgery after that manchester city game, and have a proper rest. you could see, this season when he 100% fit, he is the manace for other team defense. even when he don't score, but he actually make so many key passess.. he was the reason players like dzeko, lukaku, and thuram shine at inter.

15 points in front of Juve now! Actually, us Inter fans were surprised how long Juve kept up with us. Now they hit a serious stretch of bad form, but we are going through an injury scare... Thuram and Hakan Calhanoglu out. Both of them are underrated too. So is De Vrij, so is Acerbi, so are Barella and Bastoni... And no, we won't sell them to EPL clubs! Except maybe Dumfries for the right price.

He played through a gruesome injury in the World Cup. That has had a very negative impact on his perception. Also he doesn’t take penalties like Kane and Haaland so almost all of his goals come from open play

In fairness to you, Lautaro was not very good in the World Cup. He did deserve to be benched. In the time since, he has put things together. One thing you also missed was Lautaro’s pairing with Marcus Thuram, who has been incredible. He isn’t scoring at Lautaro’s pace but his overall play has been fantastic.

I agree, and I am a Inter fan. About Martinez, you also have to consider that it's much more difficult to score a goal in Italy than elsewhere. Today Inter is 15 points ahead of the second one, Juventus; Inter also has a +57 goals balance in this Serie-A season.

Lautaro is probably one of the most underrated players in recent years! This man scores every season 20 goals+! On top of that, he assisted many goals. His strike partners also benefit from him. Be it Lukaku, Dzeko or Thuram!👍

Lautaro will score very difficult goals with his strikers instinct but sometimes when he has too much time to think in front of goal he fucks it up. As an inter fan I can’t fault the guy because he fights for every ball and is great in build up

French Inter fan here : can you say Lautaro ? Martinez is such a common name in Argentina, like you said most of people talked VERY badly about him cause of his WC :( I've always said, Lautaro can easily reach 30 goals per season if we can be lethal front of the goal, every Inter fans knew about his technique, ball ability, his ingame versitility just his finish sometimes was " poor " even tho last week he scored an insane goal and the next week miss " the most easy goal " of his career you couldn't understand how u could miss that, and since last season after the Lukaku betrayal I realise I think that HE can be the main man of this team and that CL final forged him is LEADER / WINNING / ICE COLD / any adjective that can be good for a footballer / mentality to reach the top level and I think still a lot of people doesn't realise his level due to his WC performance ( btw he was injured he said it, Scaloni too the NT Coach if u didn't remember ) and yeah let's hope we reach that CL final again peace out FORZA INTER

Many would think that they suffered 12 goals because of defensive mindset of Italian teams. Wrong. This player is a number 9 that provides inter with 20+ goals per season, and is constantly in front of the defence to grab as many vacant balls as possible and works perfectly as a number 10 assist man too. The way he plays is now unique to him and himself only. Only Kane is able to play similarly to him. Both him and Kane are different kind of strikers compared to mbappe and hallaand. Latter ones are much less dynamic players than the former ones.
