Bit of a disclaimer: Shadow Monks don't actually possess Spellcasting or Pact Magic, so they can't take Eldritch Adept. Unless your DM is willing to overlook this, you're gonna need to dip into either Cleric or Druid to actually make this work.

As long as you're looking at Shadow Monk, I would highly advise looking at Night Domain Cleric from the Humblewood Campaign Setting! Gives you some Wisdom based support spells through cleric and the domain itself gives you the ability to see through darkness while also giving you a great defensive reaction called Ward of Shadows that can impose disadvantage on an attack roll, and that ability can extend to allies if you push to Cleric 6, similar to the Light Domain.

How about a build of Samurai Fighter and Fey Wanderer Ranger because you get a bonus to Persuasion equal to twice your Wisdom

I really like your build ideas. I would be very interested to hear your take on an "Affliction Specialist" build. Poisons, curses, and debilitating effects-all the good damage-over-time abilities.

If you're doing ranged combat there is always option of casting the darkness 3 ft. off the ground. Just drop prone and shoot at their legs.

I don't think that Master of Tactics (and Help) works the way you think with Darkness. 1. They cannot see the target (even if they know their location, which they do unless the target uses the Hide action), so they have Disadvantage on their Attack Rolls 2. Their target cannot see them, so they have Advantage on their Attack Rolls This means that by default, they attack and are attacked without Advantage or Disadvantage, and adding another source of Advantage doesn't stack. In order for Darkness to work for a team, everyone needs to have an ability like Devil's Sight.

I would have expected hobgoblin, tho kobold sounds fun too. As for alternative rogue subclasses thematic choice of course goes to phantom, arcane trickster, swashbuckler and phantom are a fun combat utility for each in their own way. As for the other remaining subclasses: assassin, scout and thief are the least terrible that remain.

My beloved mastermind rogue has 6 levels of bladesinger, so i can use that extra attack to cast a cantrip (like blade ward, resistance (artificer init.)), then help an ally or disengage as a BA. and that is not even a 5th of what she could do...
