​@@Mr-espinasA little tip for build up, I made this part of a campaign, the boss is an extremely strong gnoll who was previously captured to serve in an arena, like the coliseum, to fight against other monsters or gladiators. The thing is that when my players were at the station to catch the train, I showed colosseum patrons posters with the boss's image to capture him alive for a huge reward, because people liked seeing him fight, and the name of the boss "Bloody Jaw". I made the players talk to NPCs who were guards on the train saying that in the desert gnolls were common, being a problem for normal routes, but they rarely came together to be a problem for the train, and small groups were easily defeated by the guards and the defense systems, kind of doing marketing for his job. So I made the trip last 3 days, the first one was a basic fight with random monsters, but most of the time was free players talking to each other and NPCs. On the second day I did the thing I mentioned about the gnoll herd, where the idea would be that Blody Jaw, the boss, after being captured and placed in an arena, was fed the best meal possible for years, fought constantly for years and was still guinea pig of experiments to become stronger, becoming an alpha bitch to join a gigantic pack that caused the whole problem. In the end the group was traumatized and barely escaped the gnolls.

How’d it go?

For me its a Beast Barbarian human, loosely based on the Predator, afflicted with a unique lycanthropy curse; a weregnoll, and unbeknownst to them they act as a reality peephole for Yeenoghu into the material realm. The party has gathered a troupe of dubious allies, but they all have one common objective: hunt her down, or else she hunts them.
