The fact that Segu could get to the restricted area anytime he wanted was all it took to win this. He barely made any jumpers and he didn't need to. Jlew needs to work harder to prevent Segu getting perfect driving angles. Gotta get stronger and fight for better position.

Segu got to his spot a lot and made Jlew jumped from multiple pump-fakes, that got him lots of points. Also, Segu gave JLew his back several times during post-up where JLew can’t really defend against a hook shot from that position.

JLew is obviously a better streetball player, more entertaining and got a lot in his bag. However, Rondo is fundamentally better, uses his body well, bumps a lot, easy to see that dude is a pro. However, if we combine all bad ref calls, rondo hand checking and etc, I would say this is tie game for me

This is typical Jlew showing though. Shifty and flashy, super high wow-factor, but never has enough gas left in the tank to finish these matches. Segu was a pro - immediately saw that he had an advantage going downhill and just abused Jlew the entire match and wore him down. Jlew really gotta get back into the lab and work on those 3 pointers. In a physical, tough 1v1 matchup, u gotta know how to conserve energy and hit jumpers for easy points. Each one of Jlew's lays were tough as hell but they gotta be super draining as well ngl.

But I feel like in 1s you wanna go to certain moves and have it be competitive, but not just down low bully ball the whole time. People mad at the calls. But the ref consisntely didn’t call the hand checks…and the push off. D Allen used to whoop J Lew ass with the same strategy. Handchecking…physical defense and offensive. It’s been years and the same shit still working against him. You have to adapt to the ref. That should have been the take away. If the ref allowing two hands…then you gotta do it back until he start calling it. The ref allowed multiple push off and hand checks. Get more physical JLew it’s not just about a weight room. It’s a mentality too. Fight fucking back.

love both of these guys evenly grew up on them i clicked on the video saying segu was gonna win but jordan actually put up a fantastic performance (they both did) even with the weather but not only did jordan get tired but the early travel kall & not kalling the 4 dribble segu made lowkey sold him & cost him the win. they both played very well though💚

If the offense shoved you back a few feet you have to jump to close the distance or it's just a wide open layup

Segu kept doing the same thing. Bump Lew off him, pump fake to get Lew in the air, then step thru to the other side of the rim and lay it with his inside hand. He got at least 8 points off that. The times jlew played the bump good and stood on his feet, segu had to fade away and missed. He only made like 1-2 jump shots all game. The rest was all lays doing the same move. Ggs tho. Great matchup. Would love to see them 1v1 in a gym with air conditioning 😂

I think we are calling two different things a step through… 1. A player establishes the pivot, pivots to a position and jumps off of both feet to shoot 2. A player establishes the pivot, steps out of the pivot (that’s what is happening as the “pivot” foot is gone) and shooting from that new position.

Dude shot no threes and JLew allowed him to body him in the paint when they’re both the same size 🤦🏽♂️. Dude was definitely hand checking for sure, but JLew had a lot of opportunities but missed some decent amount of shots.

One thing about j lew is that the ball always seems to be on the same string no matter how slow or fast he going anywhere on the court, and lew hitting shots made this a match still surprise Segu didn’t win by 10 💀

I didn't know they were going to playing outside. The heat was definitely a factor in this game on their fatigue. Good game though.

all those drives to the paint were like body shots.. it wore jlew down and by the end of the game he had nothing left.. just like a boxing match. 1v1 is ALL about CONDITIONING!
