The same process as tubeless a supermoto. You can diy a kit with envelope stickers, 3m 4412N, 3m 4411N, and I use clear gorilla tape over top of it all. Gives you enough for 3 sets of wheels too.

Back in the mountain biking days we used to do tubeless conversions and I remember that we would use a lot of double sided tape 4 maybe 5 layers with a little offset from each layer and they worked well for downhill, but it's very Time consuming.

People with tubeless trying to put tubes in…. People with tubes trying to go tubeless…. Seems like Errbody wants to tinker. I know one thing I’d never grind the spoke nipples down in case I need to replace them at some point

I don't think michelin makes a mousse small enough for that tire. I went through this myself on my 125 and ended up drilling it and pulled a small section out to get it small enough. Still didn't like it, so pulled it and put in tubliss. The smaller nitromousse was backordered for it and showed up a few weeks later from slavens. I'm actually amazed that it got mounted! I don't have a rabaconda but do have a machine and a ton of levers. ETA - mine was a 110/80-18, was this a 120?

Curious how this is cheaper then just buying the right mouse. If I had to ride tomorrow I’m totally down for it. Also slime for tubes has saved my buddys bike a few times. Just need to make sure it’s the stuff for tubes.
@d.brayman3165
@d.brayman3165 Жыл бұрын
I agree with you on the Slime for tubes. It does work well, but it only has 2 year life expectancy in the tube. I know, tubes should be replaced more regularly than that, but there are times where adventure/dual sport bikes may get a pretty long tube life.
@highlandcycles
@highlandcycles Жыл бұрын
Right. Most people buy the tire stuff. It would have been better to buy the right mousse. And if she had come to us first that would have happened but she didn’t. So this is cheaper than buying another set.

What happens to that tubeless system if you need to fix spokes do you have to get a whole new kit?
@highlandcycles
@highlandcycles Жыл бұрын
That’s a good question. I think the though is that it’s on a more adv/street bike so they shouldn’t need to be tightened after they have been tuned up after break in.

Tried to put a tubliss in my 701 a few weeks ago but the rim is to wide and the Motoz tires walls to thin for it to seal. Just sticking with a tube and 2 rim locks for balance. Whats that guy going to do if he gets a flat, won't be able to seat the bead with a hand pump. No rim lock so can't run low pressure, just seems like it's just got a lot of disadvantages.
@highlandcycles
@highlandcycles Жыл бұрын
I agree. And so does he. It’s a test for sure. He will have to carry a tube just in case
@DanBallard
@DanBallard Жыл бұрын
Yeah, definitely some disadvantages. But for most of what I’m doing with the bike I shouldn’t need to run super low pressure, and as Morgan mentioned, I will carry a tube as well. It will be super nice to be able to just quickly plug something small (if the Orange doesn’t seal it first) and only use the tube if I have to. We’ll see how it goes.
@200xcBruce

Man you work on those tires way too hard and build a sweat with that Rabaconda it should not make you lose your breath. I wondered if a sealant would be needed. I have the Radius X in my 690 and has been great for 2 yrs now. Lots of adjustments first 100 miles.

Won't the Orange seal will die in 5 months, on a bicycle? Who knows how long in the moto environment? Good luck with that.
@highlandcycles
@highlandcycles Жыл бұрын
I’ve had it in my bicycle tires over a year. It’s only rated for 5-6 months but if you ride at all that’s 2 or 3 sets of tires.

@@highlandcycles We ride a lot on the mountain bikes and latex only reliably functions for 5 months at best before needing a top up. Wait long enough after 3 top ups and you get a fist sized hard globule of latex that throws off the balance and creates a hard spot. I'm skeptical of the long term reliability of this tubeless set up. But what do I know? I'm a luddite and still run tubes in the moto.
@highlandcycles
@highlandcycles Жыл бұрын
@@scottforrest2246 I’m skeptical too but I think we will change tires long before the longevity of the sealant is the issue. It’s a test. Customer knows it might not work. I just think it’s funny that people expect moto tires to last very long. I went through 3 sets on my 990 in 8000 miles in under 3 months.
@scottforrest2246

@@highlandcyclesClearly you ride moto more than I ride and I'm guessing I ride mt bike more than you and this isn't a passing contest but the way. I know what you're saying. I'll eat crow, or soy meat, if the latex sealant lasts long enough to reach the next moto tire change.

I think you need a drill bit with like 1 1/4 inch diameter. Instead of little holes. Inside Enduro has a pretty good bit but it’s speedy.
@highlandcycles
@highlandcycles Жыл бұрын
This is the smallest one. I like to start smaller because the bigger holes makes them wear out super fast. This isn’t a race setup.
