@@damatan1na I think Neff is really slow because she thought that "Anna's parents and her had a falling out and cut her off." She thought the money would come back when they "reconciled." Like what- 1- Anna told you she "made the money on her own to be independent." 2- do you not see all this evidence that she's a liar I think she was holding out that Anna would get money again to pay her s.hit for her.

@@DUBSTV2003 that's how I feel too. that she still hoped Anna would be able to provide her with the same things she did when they first met. I also agree with the original comment that, if Anna had not paid the hotel bill where Neff worked, she most likely wouldn't be so quick to defend her and judge Rachel.

I gave your comment a like because I wholeheartedly agree. I actually knew someone who came to my country with a similar story like Anna and started to pull the strings much like Anna did. I do think, though, that the apparent celebration of sociopathy is a manipulative move from the makers of this series in order to spark controversy and keep the series the topic of the conversation for a while. Sometimes, manipulation is good. In this case, it's a win-win. The series makers garner more attention from the public, while the important topic of celebrating narcissists and sociopaths is and will be discussed at length, as it should.

Then you will need to stop voting for politicians, stop supporting all actors and actresses, and don't give a dime to the bum on the street who feels they are too important to work. Basically, stay home, grow your own food, don't go out.
@donato286

@@MrModel--CAPTURED-ON-FILM How come it has to be all or nothing? We can vote for a politician and vote for someone else the next time if their narcissism or sociopathy hits unwanted, antisocial highs. Also we can support the work of an actor or an actress, but not support who they are as a person. People who beg are a mix of those who were cast away from the society because they were antisocial and those who slipped through the cracks of society which failed and keeps failing to protect them from someone antisocial when the protection was due. Being against the celebration of narcissism or sociopathy doesn't necessarily mean being 100% against the persons who have pathological narcissism and/or sociopathy but against some of the negative behaviors that come with those disorders. And those should always be called out, in much the same way a parent calls out a child on anything antisocial that a child does as they grow up. The parent doesn't immediately disown their child every time the child gets caught red-handed, engaging in some sort of mischief. It doesn't have to be a complete disdain for someone who has done something antisocial, but also it shouldn't be the veneration of that person either. If we could be someone in between - judging the negative behaviors but avoiding passing judgment on the person.

@@donato286 I sincerely appreciate the depth of the reply you've shared. I, personally, can not support a political philosophy where "one person" is in charge of the entire population, like a "king", or a communist, or even a socialist, "leader". Every human, without exception has an "ego", which makes us all, to a degree, flawed. With the potential to abuse and hurt others to an incredible extent, without restraint. Its the symbolism of what Jesus dealt with during his 40 day fast - "the devil" offering him riches and fame. It's what a great many celebrities are now, strangely, admitting to in KZfaqs, that they "all" made a deal with the devil to achieve their success. My reply, above, was to the original post by "chef" who stated he would no longer support anyone who had these traits. The problem with such a strong conviction, which I admire, is that "everyone" has narcissism and vanity and ego, without exception. The only way to not support it at all in anyone is to make your way up to a private cave in the Himalayas and 'go within'. If "chef" does that, I will be incredibly impressed.

Seems like America was to easy to scam. Why is everything ‘wired’. I bet hotels don’t do stupid stuff like that now. In the UK you have to pay upfront or have to leave a valid card for anything. Credit checks are done before any loans, plus any capital that she was saying surly she wasn’t that stupid to think that no one would really check! Did she really think that a few fake papers would secure her 40million! I thought all these things were checked online internally and some! 🙈🙈 when I got a house repair loan on my house, I practically had to show them what I ate, when I went to bed, and every bit of paperwork, all had to be verified with banks, mortgage companies, employers, credit file etc. mental!!

Remember people. What we are use to is different to what "RICH" people are. Middle class are people perceived as poor and untrustworthy so they take preemptive measures where the irony of this is they perceive as tge elite rich to be trustworthy and the workers (middle-class) will red carpet and kiss these peoples asses. She literally saw this and used their weakness against them. And anytime they questioned her integrity or willingness to pay she would gas light them by eventually having they questioned "maybe she is having trouble with a wiring issue. She's obviously not poor as she tips 100 each time". Perfect gas light ever

@@arucinthis6217 I mean in real life no one was obsessed with her. Maybe the few friends that hanged with her that were also poor, like the hotel girls or Rachel. She was just a con artist that committed fraud and provided fake documents to financial institutions, with these fake documents people believed she was doing something and gave her time and meetings, but after doing their due diligence found that she was a fraud and gave her to the DA. The only people I'd say were really stupid are the lawyers that were representing her with no retainer, other than that everything on the financial sphere played just as it usually does. The series tries to make as if she was some kind of genius outplaying Wall Street when in reality she had already been refused by many investors and financial institutions and the most damage she did was getting a 100k overdraft from city national that was authorized by one low management employee.

Also remember that "Chase" (Hunter) did the same thing as Anna. He simply knew when to file bankruptcy and move on with his life. Rachel needed to go after Anna so Amex and her Employer didnt go after her. She 100% profited from her friendship with Anna by taking $1000s from Anna over the course of a year... telling Anna she would help her get exposure and Marketing for her Business. When I worked in NY I shook hands with David Rockefeller, chatted with Bergdorf of Bergdorf Goodman, showed my original art in the windows of Tiffany, and more. But I had a talent other people wanted to hire. "Anna" had nothing. No background, no history, no training, no skill, no advanced education. Yet, throughout my career, I have met others who had similar backgrounds as Anna who achieved incredible success. They bragged about how they began their profession by 'lying', 'fibbing', 'exaggerating', 'mis-directing', 'concealing'. The difference between all of these many people I met, and their "bragging rights", is that they were 'men'. Anna, according to this series, reflected dismayingly more than once upon the challenges facing her because "she was a female". Based on my experience, and those I've met, I would agree with Anna. If she had been 'a man', and had access to what men do with other men - clubs, sports, parties, drinking binges (or whatever), girls (or whatever), I believe the exclusive private club Anna envisioned would probably exist right now. Although, more likely as some type of "men's" club.

If she had any real connections I’m positive she would’ve used them for herself. After watching Inventing Anna, I think that she was who she portrayed herself to be - minus the money. She REALLY did BECOME just like the rich people she hung out with. She wasn’t acting. She had a complicated, troubled upbringing- just like her mother described, and so, she convinced herself that she needed to get into the rich NYC crowd to succeed. And she did, but unfortunately, she didn’t have the money to actually do it. It’s a crazy series of events but a story as old as time. Young immigrant or poor child is outcasted in her community and dreams of getting revenge or never wanting to feel poor and outcasted again, so she chases that thing that she thinks will bring her success as she defines it. But it never works out in the end, bc you’re not actually looking for extreme financial wealth. No. Instead, you’re looking for the love you never received as a kid. I blame her parents. Haha Her mother admitted that she saw that her daughter was having issues, and instead, she threw her hand a in the air and said “there’s nothing I can do to fix this.” Then, she has the audacity to cry over it? She either must be stupid, or she didn’t really love her daughter enough to help he.

Her mother admitted that Anna was having issues as a minor, but she literally said that Anna was "beyond" and didn't help her to actually overcome her issues. Like, her root issues. Maybe if her mother actually did take her to therapy and/or get medication if necessary, Anna would be more adjusted? At least, more adjusted than she is now. No? What do you think, Evans?

I felt sorry for Rachel the most, and how her friends turned on her at the end in Netflix. Maybe one can make a case for the rest of it, but Rachel is the little guy. That’s what makes Anna a very bad person. The lawyer seemed to have an emotional affair with Anna, and I feel sorry for his wife. The journalist felt sorry for Anna, because her parents (simple folk) felt they had to detach from Anna due to her emotional abuse, (an attention and spending addict) which clearly they suffered.. She was a new mom, and probably felt guilty for not spending much time with her own child, and taking better care of herself during pregnancy, so she projected her guilt onto Anna, instead of correcting her obsessive behavior. This is proven once again when she isn’t grateful about having won the corner office that she supposedly was working for to vindicate her past indiscretions, she also projected her martyr mentality onto Anna, not able to see her for the sociopath that she is.

This was not a trip that Rachel pitched as a story, so why did Rachel bring her work credit card? That's a big no no. Why didn't Rachel cancel the card as soon as she got on the plane? When AMEX CS asked how much she needed to safely leave the country, why didn't tell them exactly what she needed (pay this place and tickets home)????
