But recent developments, including a provocative New York Magazine article, have compelled me to revisit this question and delve into the intricacies of Huberman's public persona.
I'll share a bit of my own saga trying to pin down an interview with him, which, spoiler alert, never happened. It's got me wondering if we've all been a bit too quick to hoist him up on that pedestal.

Only a small percentage of people have the ability to remain objective. They start listening to podcasts and become like cult members. I don't get it. Remaining objective is so important and yet is rarely talked about. I guess people really have a need to be "fans" and feel part of something. Then they defend whatever nonsense the person says. No because Einstein was a physicist. His body of work had nothing to do with mental, emotional, and physical health. Unlike Huberman, he didn’t use his academic and professional bona fides to purport himself as an arbiter of healthy relationships.

What bothers me about this is this incredible double standard. Can you imagine that a female neuroscience professor would be publicly scrutinized for her love life like this? I don't think so, If Huberman was a she, an article like that wouldn't get published and videos like yours would be taken down as hate speech and misogyny. You may agree or disagree with what he says and you may privately approve or disapprove of his behavior. But publicizing his love life and attacking his credibility on that all the while the same societal standards wouldn't apply the other way, is just unacceptable hypocrisy. Especially when none of you, who feel it is appropriate to bash him for his private life, bothered to reach out for him to comment. While I choose to live my life differently as a man of roughly his age, I fail to see any connection between his alleged promiscuity and his credibility as a scientist. As far as I followed him, he never explicitly advised against the kind of behavior he engages in, so where's his alleged hypocrisy? I think the hypocrisy is yours and you just want to take down your competition.

Huberman has been called out for presenting false information numerous times. He also presented false info in his personal life. If you think that’s a coincidence, you’re delusional. His piece on GRIEF - and its synaptic process which is discrete from other sadness and depression - gave me more relief than twenty years of therapy. I have passed it on to those who have lost loves ones and 2 have sent me enthusiastic thank you texts. He has never claimed that he has been successful with employing every evidence based tip. He has talked candidly about having a delayed puberty, and how his parents divorce led him to seek a replacement for the attention in girlfriends and mentors. That is he seems that if one is unusually brilliant and talented, and they are not married, that commitment issues will occur before the end of a relationship

Yeah if the allegations are true we can all agree we don't want more of his behavior in the world. But to look down on him is to imply that you are better. It’s sounds like you put him on a pedestal on moral authority but based on the majority of the comments all around, most only put him on a pedestal of scientific/neuro topics which is where he’ll stay. It´s always baffling how people can´t hold two realities at the same time: 1.) His podcast offers a lot of value AND 2.) he seems to be quite an asshole in his private life. Why should those who were affected by his bad behavior „shut up“, just because this part of him irritates the false facade some people created around him? No one says he should be „cancelled“ because of it or that the people who love his podcast should stop listening to him. But acknowledge those who experienced him in a different light without whining about it out of blind fandom.

What is this?? These click bait hit pieces need to stop. What does any of this have to do with his science. Let me ask you this. Do you make videos about your friends that flaked out or was involved in infidelity? Maybe I’m missing the point of the message but not sure what it’s helping. He doesn’t do a podcast on relationships and certainly doesn’t claim to be perfect. I may very well be taking this out of context and apologize if I am, but I’m not connecting the dots to the relevancy of his skills as a scientist, let alone the millions of people he has helped. How quickly that gets overlooked. I do find it funny hearing the work ethical journalism and the New Yorker in the same sentence

Infidelity doesn't usually affect how I view someone personally. Things go sideways in relationships all the time. But infidelity (trickery?) on the scale being alleged definitely makes me question whether someone is capable of complete honesty.

helping people by giving wrong advice? yes some of the stuff he says works, a lot of people say the same things (ice bath and so on) ... but he doesnt care about the truth of what he is saying! he as been spreading wrong information multiple times... people might believe it and have negative effect ... youre lucky that you followed some of the things that actually turned out to be true, but how can you trust someone like that? anything he says, you have to do some research by yourself because he isnt honest, he is just trying to get as much content as possible .... now i get that thinking this way probably makes me subhuman in your eyes ... i just gambling on the small chance of strangers actually being evolved enough to have a actual discourse but ... i dont have many expectations ^^

Andrew is a scientist who excels at teaching practical applications of scientific principles to improve your own life. Leave it there. There is really no reason to go deeper. If you are looking to a scientist to be your messiah then that is a fault in your own approach to life and you are going to be let down quite often in this life. If you want moral guidance find religion. Stop trying to make science your religion and stop wishing teachers were perfect. There has only been one perfect being. Go seek that story if that’s what you are looking for.

Repeated words spoken in this video are “Maybe” and “This Could” and “I Think” and are words used by someone who is stating their biased opinion based on hearsay and lack of credible facts! That’s why Huberman, like him or not, always speaks on data and research from top level pier reviewed journal articles! Yes he is a capitalist who makes money off some of his content but that’s his business and he does state that his views and opinions are not those shared through Stamford so I don’t see an issue with Ethics here.
