We're at Farndale with a star-studded Shooting Show team for a dazzling driven day courtesy of Bernard Moss and co. But the weather isn't playing ball, and we're met with horizontal rain and high winds. But clothed in high-spec Deerhunter gear, the boys aren't put off, and proceed to put as many birds as they can before the drive ends (or the rain short-circuits the cameras).

classy hunting. i'd like to do it some time. for now, i'll get back to hunting birds in the mucky hinterlands of pennsylvania.

that was not a right and left there was a gap btween shots

There's always a time lapse between shots.....Even if using machine guns ;-) By definition a right and a left involves both barrels being fired, resulting in two kills without dismounting the gun and typically within a second or two.

I love my shooting but wearing a tie? It is neither useful nor appropriate. Be smart for the afternoon drinks at the count but overdressed and nobody will take them seriously.

+leboucdetrambly Hi, just in reply to your comment. Driven shooting is a sporting activity steeped in tradition, one of which is the dress code. On a formal day one is expected to wear a shirt and tie and it's a tradition I enjoy adhering to. Wearing a tie in no way has a detrimental effect on my shooting and on a day with weather such as we experienced at Farndale a collar and tie help restrict the flow of rainwater down your neck! As for being overdressed? The keepers, pickers up and most of the beaters were all in formal shooting attire meaning i would have felt somewhat under dressed without my tweeds,shirt and tie.

shoot captain should have stopped the greedy shooting of two of the guns.shooting half the bag and still shooting easy birds going away must surely have ruined the day for the rest of the team
